K&N Engineering Masters Citroen's Unique Air Path with New Air Filter

The 1.8L engine on the Citroen C5 is capable of 117 BHP. Some of the equipment
on the 2006 includes ABS, emergency brake assist and a unique Hydractive 3
suspension. The C-5 can read the road and adapt its ride set-up depending on
ground surface, speed and the way the driver is operating. Sensors strategically
located around the car feed information to a central control system that can
change both spring and damper rates as necessary.
Replacement Air Filter for Citroen C5, C6 and Peugeot 407
K&N Engineering has designed a Lifetime Replacement Air Filter (33-2911)
for the 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Citroen C5 1.8L L4. Lift the hood of the C5 and the
K&N Air Filter is custom designed to fit in the factory air box. The drop-in
design means adding performance is simple, just remove the disposable air filter
in the Citroen C5 and replace it with K&N's Air Filter (33-2911). The 33-2911 also fits the 2007 to 2009 Citroen C6 3.0L, the 2005 to 2009 Peugeot 407 models with the 2.0L, 2.2L and 3.0L engines.
"The air path on the Citroen engine is unique when compared to other vehicles," said K&N Air Filter Project Manager Joost Adriaans. "The air does not travel in a straight path, from top to bottom on the Citroen. Instead, it curves through the unique design of this K&N Filter back to the bottom of the airbox."
The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter is designed to increase horsepower and acceleration while providing excellent filtration. The 33-2911 is 1 inch in height (25mm) with an outside length of 14.125 inches (359mm) and an outside width of 6 inches (152mm).
Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum screen. K&N Air Filters capture airborne dirt particles while allowing high volume air flow. These particles then cling to the outside of the filter and become part of the filtering media.
