New K&N 57-Series FIPK® Cold-Air System Makes The Ram SRT-10 Even More Exciting
- 4 ene 2005
RIVERSIDE, CA - Ford and Dodge continue to duke it out for muscletruck supremacy. Just when the Lightning appears to claim the crown, Dodge unveils the 500-HP Ram SRT-10, powered by the Viper-inspired 8.3L V-10. K&N Engineering has been on the fast-truck bandwagon for years and proudly introduces a new 57-Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK®) for the SRT-10, Part No. 57-1541. Dyno-testing revealed that this K&N cold-air system improved horsepower and torque across the powerband. (See the dyno chart at www.knfilters.com.)
The 57-Series FIPK® system makes more power by replacing the restrictive factory airbox and intake tract. More air into the engine equates to added power.
K&N begins with one of its famous High-Flow Air Filters, isolated from underhood heat by the kit's powdercoated heat shield. Compared to the factory filter, the K&N unit is freer-flowing and traps more dirt. Plus, this filter can be washed and re-oiled with a K&N Recharger® Kit. Normally outlasting the vehicle, the K&N High-Flow Air Filter comes with the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty® and can be serviced as seldom as every 100,000 miles under optimal conditions.
The K&N filter attaches to an aerodynamically designed intake tube that's made of polyethylene. This allows the free-flowing tube to be routed for minimal turbulence and also helps dissipate heat. Installation is easily completed by the do-it-yourselfer. No drilling is required, and the 57-Series kit includes illustrated instructions as well as all necessary mounting hardware.
For the SRT-10, K&N also offers a washable/reusable replacement filter (PN 33-2297) as well as a Performance Gold® Oil Filter (PN HP-2004).
