2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 6.4L SRT Gets More HEMI Power With K&N
- 2 oct 2015
Beginning with the 2006 model year Chrysler's performance tuning division began to offer the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 powered by a 6.1-liter HEMI engine. The all-wheel drive HEMI-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee took a year off when Jeep first introduced the fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 in 2011. However, when the Grand Cherokee SRT returned in 2012 it came back with an even larger 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and an incredible 470 horsepower. 2012-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 6.4L models boast the most powerful engine ever stuffed into a Jeep making the WK2 SRT8 the fastest production Jeep to date. When the 470 HP Hemi is combined with the Grand Cherokee SRT model's Quadra-Trac Active On Demand 4WD, launch control, Selec-Track electronically adjustable suspension, and Brembo brakes, it amounts to a Jeep with a lot more than impressive straight-line performance.
Even with as much power as the 6.4L HEMI powered Grand Cherokee packs from the showroom floor, it can still be improved with the addition of a K&N performance air intake system. A K&N air intake system is engineered to reduce air intake tract restriction and provide as much air as the engine can use. A K&N intake does this by replacing restrictive factory components, such as the flexible air induction hosing, closed air filter box, and sometimes an intake tract resonator, with new free flowing components from K&N air filters. The K&N air intake for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 6.4L models includes an all-new mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube, coupled to a large open-element K&N high-flow air filter, and an application specific air filter heat shield to divert hot air from entering the engine.
K&N air intake 77-1567KS produced amazing results when it was installed and dyno tested on a stock 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 6.4L. In-house dynamometer testing showed an estimated increase of 27.86 more horsepower at 5,700 RPM. Even more impressive is the large estimated increase of 29.97 lb-ft of torque at a low 3,200 RPM. It is said that torque is what gets a vehicle moving, and horsepower is what keeps it moving. Either way, with a K&N air intake installed on a 2012-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 6.4L, the driver is going to be amazed at the guaranteed increase in horsepower waiting to be unleashed by pressing the accelerator. K&N filters is so confident in the performance of its air intake systems that K&N offers a K&N Air Intake Horsepower Guarantee.
Like most every K&N air filter and air intake, the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 6.4L intake system is backed by a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. For those that don't know, K&N air filters are washable and reusable. A large K&N air filter like those used in a K&N air intake system can go up to 100,000 miles of driving, depending on driving conditions, before cleaning is necessary. When it does come time to clean a K&N air filter, the task can easily be accomplished with a readily available K&N Recharger™ air filter service kit. A Recharger air filter service kit contains K&N Power Kleen™ air filter degreaser, and K&N air filter oil designed to return performance of a K&N air filter to virtually like-new. So if looking to add some extra punch to the 6.4L Hemi powered Jeep Grand Cherokee models listed below, look no further than K&N air intake 77-1567KS. 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 6.4L V8 K&N air intakes and K&N air filters for all Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ, WJ, WK, and WK2 models can be found on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Air Intakes and Jeep Grand Cherokee Air Filters pages. Additional K&N performance products, such as oil filters for Jeep Grand Cherokees, or K&N products for other vehicles can be found using the K&N Search by Vehicle. |
