Fiesta owners in the market for a street legal boost in performance for the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST can get a K&N Performance short ram intake air intake system to fill that need

The Ford Fiesta is one of the best-selling global cars from the Ford Motor Company. In 2010 Ford released the sixth generation Fiesta and brought the Fiesta stateside for the first time since 1980. In 2013 Ford announced it was going to spice things up by adding a 1.6-liter EcoBoost turbocharged Fiesta ST to its lineup. The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST EcoBoost features overboost allowing the 1.6L turbocharged engine to make a claimed 197 horsepower when using premium unleaded fuel. A sub-compact car, like the 2014 Ford Fiesta, with 197 horsepower may seem like overkill, however the electronic traction, and stability control combined with race inspired suspension make this a fun car to drive.

The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST is fun in stock trim; however, many owners are searching for a street legal boost in performance for their Fiesta ST. Those owners should look no further than K&N Performance Air Intake System 57-2587. The 57-2587 Ford Fiesta ST air intake is expert-engineered and guaranteed to increase horsepower and torque. It replaces the restrictive factory system with a free-flowing, high-density polyethylene air intake tube to help minimize restriction, straighten, and increase airflow to the engine. Less restriction and more airflow translates into a boost in usable power throughout the engine’s RPM range.

Roto-molded air intake tubes, like the one used in the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST intake system, allow K&N designers to maximize use of tight spaces under the hood of modern cars

K&N’s RU-4960 reusable air filter is fitted to the inlet of the K&N roto-molded air intake tube to provide high airflow rates as well as outstanding engine protection. This K&N filter is washable and reusable and can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. K&N air intake 57-2587, for the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST incorporates a heat shield which helps to deflect engine heat away from incoming air. To help direct relatively cold air toward the K&N performance air filter the factory cold air inlet is incorporated into the design of the street legal 2014 Ford Fiesta ST EcoBoost air intake.

The K&N 2014 Ford Fiesta ST street legal performance air intake system is able to free up horsepower and torque lost to the Ford 1.6L EcoBoost engine due to air intake tract restriction.  On the dyno, when installed on a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST 1.6L, the K&N 57-2587 street legal Performance Air Intake System produced an estimated additional 7.21 horsepower at 5210 rpm and an impressive 10.07 pound-feet of torque at a low 3959 rpm. Additional testing was performed to determine if replacing the turbo charge pipe was necessary for power gains. It was determined that replacing this additional section of the air intake tube did not result in increased performance, and made installation much more difficult than necessary.

Street legal performance air intake system 69-8704TP from K&N Filters for the 2013-2014 Lexus IS350 & GS350 3.5L V6 luxury sedan models

Lexus was first introduced in 1989 as the luxury oriented division of the Toyota Motor Corporation. Lexus models, such as the 2013-2014 Lexus IS350 & GS350, benefit from Toyota engineering, and build quality but are very different from Toyota vehicles on the road. 2013-2014 Lexus IS350 & GS350 models are performance oriented luxury sedans designed to compete with other cars such as the BMW 5-series or Mercedes-Benz E-Class. K&N realizes that the typical luxury performance sedan owner is not only interested in touch-screen navigation, but also enjoys the rush of acceleration and the growl emitted by a performance-oriented engine. This is why K&N Filters has created a 50-state street legal air intake system 69-8704TP, for 2013-2014 Lexus IS350 & GS350 3.5L V6 models.

The K&N 69-8704TP Typhoon Air Intake System for 2013-2014 Lexus IS350 & GS350 3.5L V6 luxury sedans is precision-engineered to provide a guaranteed increase in horsepower, better acceleration, and improved engine sound. The 69-8704TP performance air intake system is a little different from the average cold air intake system. K&N engineers chose to retain the use of the 2013-2014 Lexus IS350, or GS350 stock air box when designing the 69-8704TP performance air intake system. Retaining the use of the stock air box allowed K&N engineers to increase performance while leaving all the stock emissions control equipment in place. This allowed K&N air intake 69-8704TP to earn an exemption order from the state of California for the 2013-2014 Lexus IS350 and GS350 models listed below.

K&N air intake 69-8704TP will fit the 2015 Lexus RC350, IS250, or IS350 but is not legal for sale or use on these models in California or other states adopting California emissions standards

A 2013 Lexus GS 350 gains an estimated 12.57 more street legal horsepower and 13.62 lb-ft of torque for better acceleration, drivability, and improved engine sound

K&N high-flow air filters provide less restriction than typical paper air filters, and because of this K&N air filter 33-2452, is able to reduce the restriction inherent to a stock air filter. K&N Air Filter 33-2452 is designed with K&N’s famous high-flow cotton gauze filter media to help increase airflow while also providing outstanding engine protection. 33-2452 is washable and reusable and can even go up to 50,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. All of the design features of the 69-8704TP street legal performance air intake system work together to deliver a guaranteed street legal increase in horsepower and torque which will improve acceleration.

On the dyno, 69-8704TP produced an estimated additional 12.57 horsepower at 5,498 rpm and 13.62 pound-feet of torque at 4,376 rpm over the stock system. The 69-8704TP performance air intake system is an excellent upgrade for 2013-2014 Lexus IS350, and GS350 models. With simple to follow instructions and no need to make any other modifications to the vehicle, this intake can be installed in less than 90 minutes.

K&N backs the 69-8704TP Lexus air intake system with a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. Street legal performance air intake 69-8704TP is designed to fit and function properly on the 2013-2015 Lexus models listed below:

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East DriveSober125 at the Monster Mile in Dover, Delaware was originally scheduled to run on Friday, October 3, 2015. However, a tropical storm loomed on the horizon and made sure NASCAR officials had their work cut out for them to ensure one lucky driver got their chance to take home the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Championship.

NASCAR K&N Pro Series East rookie Collin Cabre had never driven the Monster Mile in Dover, Delaware but got his first win in a car powered by an engine built in the K&N Engine Room at NTI

The green flag finally dropped on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East DriveSober125 on Saturday October 4, 2015 at 12:30 pm. The DriveSober125 was the final race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East 2015 season. The drivers started the race without any practice or qualifying laps due to the weather. Many of the drivers were unsure of what to expect from their cars and the famed Monster Mile track in Dover, Delaware. NASCAR K&N Pro Series East points leader, and rookie of the year contender, William Byron led the field to green with no prior experience on the mile track. Byron led 57 laps in all and would bring his No. 9 Liberty University Chevrolet home in 9th place

After starting on the pole and leading 57 laps, Byron’s top ten finish earned him the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Championship. William Byron also took home the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award; barely edging out teammate Dalton Sargeant. This was the third consecutive East series championship title for HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks following Ben Rhodes’ and Dylan Kwasneiwski’s championship winning seasons.

Fellow Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender Collin Cabre was just one of many drivers to have never driven the Monster Mile in Dover, Delaware before the start of the DriveSober125. That didn’t stop Cabre from capturing his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East victory for the NASCAR Drive for Diversity team Rev Racing. The 21-year old Florida native captured the win in his UTI/NTI No. 2 Toyota Camry. The winning car was powered by an engine built in the K&N Engine room at the NASCAR Technical Institute.

Airbags from Airlift Performance allow Vaughn Gittin Jr. to control the ride height based on the terrain. Kibbetech Offroad mated the airbags with King Shocks dual bypass shock absorbers in the front and triple bypass shock absorbers in the rear. The combined result is 12 inches of travel when fully lifted. Kibbetech also built a custom radius arm with panhard bar rear suspension. To handle all the power and abuse at the rear wheels, a Currie Enterprises full-floating F9 rear end was installed.

Runners up in the chase for the Championship were Scott Heckert, who finished 15 points behind Byron, and Austin Hill who finished 33 points back. Dalton Sargeant and Rico Abreu rounded out the top 5 in 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East points. William Byron, along with other top finishing NASCAR K&N Pro Series East drivers, will be honored at the NASCAR Night of Champions Touring Awards at the Charlotte Convention Center/NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, December 12, 2015.

K&N Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr Changed a 2015 Ford F150 Into the Ultimate Funhaver

K&N drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr was inspired to build his interpretation of an ultimate fun haver capable of drifting or off-roading out of a 2015 Ford F150 3.5L EcoBoost pickup truck

K&N drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr was inspired to build his interpretation of an ultimate fun haver capable of drifting or off-roading out of a 2015 Ford F150 3.5L EcoBoost pickup truck

K&N air filters sponsored Vaughn Gittin Jr. began his professional drifting career over ten years ago. The self-taught American drifter came from humble beginnings driving his personal Nissan S13 in Formula Drift. The switch to a Ford Mustang in 2005 brought the Maryland native much notoriety and sponsors such as Ford Racing, Monster Energy drinks, Nitto Tires and K&N air filters. Having tried his hand at NASCAR, and recently at Trans Am racing, Vaughn Gittin Jr. considers himself more than just a professional drifter. When his hoonigan antics are factored into the equation, Vaughn Gittin Jr. could more appropriately be called a “professional funhaver.”

With Vaughn Gittin Jr. behind the wheel of the 2015 Ford F150 Ultimate Funhaver the truck easily transitioned between drifts, kicking up epic roosts, and getting airborne off of jumps

With Vaughn Gittin Jr. behind the wheel of the 2015 Ford F150 Ultimate Funhaver the truck easily transitioned between drifts, kicking up epic roosts, and getting airborne off of jumps

With the introduction of the lighter, more efficient, and better accelerating 2015 Ford F150 what better way for Gittin to show off his skills as a professional funhaver than by transforming a 2015 Ford F150 EcoBoost into the ultimate funhaver? What is an ultimate funhaver? Picture a vehicle that is highly capable of drifting on the pavement and with the flick of a switch equally adept at tackling a short course off-road race track. This kind of thinking is exactly what inspired Vaughn Gittin Jr to build his interpretation of an ultimate funhaver.

Recently K&N sponsored professional funhaver Vaughn Gittin Jr. took the 2015 Ford F150 3.5L EcoBoost out to Hoontown, USA to demonstrate just what this truck was capable of for a new video. Hoontown, USA is a ranch in Southern California composed of a big dirt lot with a few jumps. With Vaughn Gittin Jr. behind the wheel of the F150 Ultimate Funhaver the truck easily transitioned between drifts, kicking up epic roosts, and getting the truck airborne. With all of the custom suspension work the 2015 F150’s high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body and high-strength steel frame landed flat each and every time.

The truck was built by Kibbetech Offroad, known for building race trucks for desert-running in the off-road world. The Ultimate Funhaver F150’s engine is a stock Ford 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin turbocharged and direct injected V6 with some basic bolt on power mods. These power adders include a custom Magnaflow exhaust that allows Vaughn to run an open exhaust at the push of a button and of course a K&N air intake system. Additionally, the Vaughn Gittin Jr. Ultimate Funhaver pickup uses a full-race intercooler and an ECU tune from Revolution Automotive. While the power is impressive for a near-stock truck, what really stands out is the suspension work which makes the truck at home in the dirt and on the road.

Vaughn made sure the exterior of the truck reflected the Ultimate Funhaver theme by commissioning Auto Explosion Custom Auto Body to create one-off fender flares. The truck was wrapped in XPEL Stealth protection film and Vaughn Gittin Jr. added custom RTR 18x10-inch wheels fitted with 35-inch Nitto Terra Grappler tires. Similarly, the interior has been tastefully modified for both form and function. Inside the Ultimate Funhaver are five Recaro Sportster seats flanked by Takata Racing harnesses. The only other interior modification is an Autosport Dynamics handbrake, which comes in handy for initiating drifts on or off-road.
