There isn’t a rider out there who doesn’t wish for a little extra oomph from their engine when they need to squeeze through traffic or even when accelerating down a freeway on ramp. K&N may have the solution for 2014 – 2015 Harley Sportster 1200 riders with its RK-3943 Intake System.

The 1200 is a version of Harley’s Evolution engine, more commonly referred to as the Evo. It’s an air-cooled, 45-degree, V-twin engine first manufactured for Sportster model in 1986, replacing the iron head Sportster engine. Many consider the Evolution the engine that “saved” Harley-Davidson as the Evolution engine tended not to leak oil, ran cool, and was more durable than its predecessor.

Thanks to the resurgence of modern muscle cars, an entirely new generation of cars have brought fresh faces and new ideas to the hobby. The K&N Filters All-American Sunday Corral is open to these late model American cars, and it provides owners/clubs with a special place to show off their rides. This is a great place to meet other late-model enthusiasts, and compare notes on things like wheel & tire combinations, or cold air intakes. Participants are also eligible to compete in the Show & Shine car show and AutoCross racing.

Every Goodguys Nationals & Goodguys Get-Together Event brings together a tightly knit community of enthusiasts, who love to share their passion and lend a helping hand. K&N is proud to be a part of these special events, and we encourage you to come by and see us at the next Goodguys event.

The K&N VF2005 cabin air filter is washable so it can be used over and over and over again in your Toyota Tacoma or Pontiac Vibe

Known as a compact pickup when first introduced in the United States during the 1995 model year, the Toyota Tacoma is now in its third generation of production.  The first generation model offered three different engines, including:

• 2.4 Liter four-cylinder that generated 142-hp and 160-lb-ft of torque
• 2.7 Liter four-cylinder that produced 150-hp and 177-lb-ft of torque
• 3.4 Liter V6 that created 190-hp and 220-lb-ft of torque

The first generation Tacoma with the 2.4 Liter engine achieved a very fuel-efficient rating of 29 miles per gallon; the 2.7 accomplished 26 miles per gallon; and the 3.4 delivered a respectable 22-mpg. Buyers also had a choice of 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive.

The present model is the third generation, which was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2015. A 2.7-liter I4 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission or an optional 5-speed manual with a 3.5-liter V6 powers the pickup today.

Pontiac introduced the Vibe compact hatchback in 2002 and produced the car until 2010. The buyer had a choice of three engines – a Toyota-constructed 1.8-liter straight-4, 16 valve engine with a manual or automatic transmission that generated 126-hp for the basic model; an all-wheel drive with automatic transmission that produced 118-hp; or a VVTL-I engine with a manual 6-speed transmission that created 164-hp.

Before the United States Environmental Protection Agency changed its testing procedure in 2008, the Vibe was considered the most fuel-efficient vehicle General Motors in North America had ever produced.

The second generation Vibe was introduced in 2009 and was produced until 2010. The buyer had a choice of two new inline-four engines – a Toyota-built 2.4 liter that was also used in the Toyota Camry and a 1.8-liter 2ZR-FE engine, which was standard on the base model. It also included computerized traction control and anti-lock brakes.  

The Pontiac Vibe may not exist any longer, but the Toyota Tacoma continues to be one of the hottest pickups in the U.S. market.

Both Vibe and Tacoma owners have the option to purchase a K&N replacement cabin air filter, VF2005,  to help maintain the interior air quality of their machines.
