Luke Bogacki hit a winning streak at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In his K&N Filters backed dragster, he won his first event of the season and watched one of his cars dominate another event. Bogacki won the main event and $20,000 at the weeklong Spring Fling event in Las Vegas. Dan Fletcher, driving one of Bogacki's K&N Filters Super Comp dragsters, won at the DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals.

Fletcher Las Vegas: Dan Fletcher won the Super Comp Division at the NHRA national event at The Strip in Las Vegas. It was the 96th NHRA event victory of his career.

For Fletcher, it was his first win in the Super Comp division and his 96th NHRA Nationals event victory. He beat Steve Williams in the final. Fletcher and Bogacki met in the quarterfinals. Fletcher won with a 0.001 reaction time and a 9.049-second run.

"My own success thus far this season has been incredible," Bogacki said. "But watching Dan win might be my highlight so far. I know that winning in Super Comp was a big deal for him, and when Jessica and I offered him the car, we told him that we'd love to be a part of his first 8.90 win. The car was incredible as usual – obviously it's been the breadwinner thus far this season – and Dan was flawless as well. It was great to see it all come together."

Bogacki won 15 consecutive rounds at the races in Las Vegas in the Division 7 Lucas Oil event. He finally lost to Jeff Verdi in Round 6. He ran his wife Jessica's American Race Cars dragster in another event and advanced to the fifth round.

Luke Huntsville winner circle: Luke Bogacki, driving one of his K&N Filters backed dragsters, won $25,000 at the Ultimate Series drag races in Huntsville, Ala.

"It was all sort of a whirlwind," Bogacki said. "Obviously the car performed flawlessly thanks to American Race Cars and all the manufacturers that we depend on for product, it all came together. The trip out there was actually a lot of fun. .. Having some success on the race track is just icing on the cake."

Bogacki has a four-car drag racing team, built by American Race Cars and backed by K&N Filters. He started the 2016 season at the DragRaceResults.com Ultimate Series in Huntsville, Alabama, in March. In his wife's new dragster, he advanced to the final nine cars and came out as the leader in the season-long Ultimate Series standings. The season champion wins an American Race Cars dragster valued at more than $35,000. He won the last race of the event and $25,000.

"Considering that was our first weekend of competition in general, obviously I would have loved to debut the new car with a victory, but I'm not going to complain," Bogacki said.

Spring Fling winner circle: Luke Bogacki, in his K&N Filters backed dragster, won $20,000 at the Spring Fling drag races at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

One of his cars is brand new. His team put it together during the off-season. Even though it was a new dragster, Bogacki said he was confident it would be competitive from the start. American Race Cars helped assemble the car. Bogacki said American Race Cars built his last dragster and his last eight cars.

"It's just kind of tedious to get all of that stuff just right," Bogacki said. "I felt like when we debuted it, it's not only a very competitive car, that it's a candidate for best spring car, best engineered car."

Bogacki is coming off a successful 2015 season. The two-time NHRA national champion won three Super Comp national events, at Brainerd, Minnesota, St. Louis, and the US Nationals at Indianapolis. He won 29 consecutive rounds in the Super Comp division. He also won drag racing events over the winter at Valdosta, Georgia, Bradenton, Florida, and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Vegas Starting Line: Luke Bogacki won 15 consecutive rounds in the Spring Fling event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Bogacki and his team are headed to events at Norwalk, Ohio, Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Chicago in the next few weeks. He is looking forward to the next three events because they have been successful tracks for his team in the past.

"We will be pretty busy in the next three or four weeks," Bogacki said. "The goal is to find some success and continue earning points toward another NHRA championship."

Having K&N Filters for support has been a huge part of Bogacki's team success. He said the K&N air filters are the best products on the market and his partnership with K&N has been fruitful.

"It's grown over the years to where it's a huge part of what we do," Bogacki said. "It is so entrenched, they probably support our sport as much or more than any other manufacturer. They obviously make the best components for what we do; their support has been a huge, huge part of our success."

E90 BMW M3 with K&N AirCharger Air Intake Boosts Horsepower and Torque

K&N 63-1116 AirCharger intake for the V8 powered 2008-2013 BMW M3

K&N 63-1116 AirCharger intake for the V8 powered 2008-2013 BMW M3

When the E90/E92/E93 BMW M3 was launched in 2008, worshippers of the blue roundel dumped ashes on their heads and wailed for 40 days and nights. Their beloved straight-6 was dead, and the charlatans in Munich had replaced it with a V8! Sure, the S65 V8 was derived from the mighty V10 in the M5, and it made well north of 400-hp. But the purists still cried foul. Nevertheless, the rest of world loved the 2008-2013 BMW M3 for its stunning technical features, and glorious V8 power. The new 'ultimate 3-Series' also received a number of innovations aimed at making it easier to drive. Buyers opposed to shifting their own gears could order a new dual-clutch transmission, and the performance/handling could now be adjusted through the iDrive interface. However, owners that want to push the performance envelope even further, will love the estimated 13 horsepower increase that comes from the K&N 63-1116 AirCharger performance intake system.

No matter how technically advanced the 2008-2013 BMW M3 is, that BMW 4.0L V8 still makes power the 'old fashioned' way. Gas and air get dumped into the cylinders, and a spark plug ignites the mixture. The resulting explosion (this is where horsepower comes from) forces the piston down, turning the crankshaft, and eventually the back wheels. Increasing the horsepower is as simple as turning up the potency on the oxygen catalyst. This is done by providing the engine with a larger volume of cold air. Since cold air has more oxygen molecules than warm air, the fuel inside the cylinders will create more power because the additional oxygen allows it to burn more completely. The K&N 63-1116 AirCharger cold air intake is designed to provide the engine with this potent catalyst, and you won't even have to make any programming modifications.

To get more oxygen-rich air to your BMW S65 4.0L V8, the 63-1116 AirCharger performance intake kit utilizes a low restriction polyethylene intake tube, connected to a K&N high-flow air filter. It mounts in place of the stock air box, behind a heat shield that's been specially designed to seal against the underside of the hood. Effectively creating a sealed cold air chamber, so the K&N filter can ingest a high volume of cold air coming up from beneath the car. This K&N cold air intake design is able to deliver a constant supply of air, without changing the ECU programming. The reusable filter also provides much cleaner air than the paper OEM BMW air filter. Plus, it can go up to 100,000 miles before it needs to be cleaned (depending on road conditions)

In order to verify the performance gains, K&N installed a 63-1116 AirCharger intake kit on a 2011 BMW M3 and dyno testing revealed an estimated increase of 13.43 horsepower and 13.98 lb-ft of torque. The increased airflow also helps the BMW S65 V8 make its power at lower RPMs, which results in much sharper throttle response.

Being consistent is the way you win championships. Winning races is what you strive for every time you are out on the track, and also knowing there is a long term goal you must keep focused on. Carl Renezeder knows what it takes to win championships; he has won nine championships and eight cup victories in his career. Carl's plan for the 2016 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in both his Pro 2 and his Pro 4 trucks is to win the championship.

At the beginning of the year Carl and his team made a decision to return to BFGoodrich Tires as one of their sponsors. Carl said "I started my racing career with BFGoodrich and I am excited about returning to my original partnership with the brand." Carl has been partnered with K&N Filters for over 12 years and he uses K&N air filters and oil filters, and the degreaser cleaner in all of his race trucks, haulers, and team vehicles. Carl said "K&N is the industry leader, there is no better filter out there, we're proud to be able to run K&N products in our race trucks and support vehicles, and value our partnership with K&N Filters."

Carl started off the season with a bang in Chandler, AZ. In round 1, Carl battled for the lead in his Pro 4 but just barely missed the top spot and ended up finishing in second. In his Pro 2 he had several hard battles just missing out on the podium in fourth. In round 2, Carl let everyone know that he was back and ready to fight for the championship in both his Pro 4 and Pro 2 trucks. Carl dominated the Pro 4 race, leading every lap of the race for his first win of the year. Right after that he came out and raced just like they never waived the checkered flag and continued straight to victory lane in the Pro 2. This was his first win in the Pro 2 since 2014, and also gave him his 120th win of his career.

With rounds 3 and 4 in Lake Elsinore, CA, Carl and his team were able to work hard at the shop and get some good testing in at the local track of his. The Pro 2 didn't go as planned and he had several hard battles with the top drivers, finishing seventh and eighth. With such a talented field of drivers, every point is crucial and Carl is able to hold a fourth place spot in the championship, only a few points down. It was in the Pro 4 that he let everyone know he is back and at the top of his game. In round 3, Carl battled for the top spot the entire race just missing it once again and coming in second. In round 4, he was very fast and was able to get out in front and stayed there, finishing on top of the podium for the second time of the year, and also his 121st career win, and first place in the championship points battle.

Carl said 'We have been working hard during testing to make the trucks better. Our BFGoodrich tires have been hooking up very well and with the horsepower we have from Pro Power, we had to come up with a new plan for the Pro 4, it worked incredibly well. We can move that same set up over to the Pro 2 and hopefully it will respond the same way. I'm so proud of our team, this is the payoff for all the hard work my crew puts in each week."

Hard work and dedication is helping Carl to stay consistent and focused toward the end result, the championship. They are looking forward to rounds 5 and 6 at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah, and they know this is what it takes to be first at the end of the year.

2011-2014 Jeep Patriot & Jeep Compass with K&N Air Intake System Boosts Horsepower

K&N 57-1567 FIPK Cold Air Intake System for the 2011-2014 Jeep Patriot and 2011-2014 Jeep Compass

The K&N 57-1567 FIPK Cold Air Intake System can significantly improve the performance of the 2011-2014 Jeep Patriot and 2011-2014 Jeep Compass

Different eras require different vehicles, and automakers are constantly evolving their product lines to make vehicles fit into the customers’ ever-changing life. Years ago, the typical Jeep buyer wanted to go off-road, and look cool doing it. That's why vehicles like the Jeep CJ and Jeep Wagoneer were popular. Today's Jeep buyer doesn't have the luxury of $0.85/gal gas, so they need a truck that gets good gas mileage, yet still has enough power to handle an occasional off-pavement excursion. Many current Jeep customers don't really venture off-road all that much, but they still like to do "outdoors-y" things. To meet these new requirements and maintain the rugged capability that the Jeep name implies, they created the 2011-2014 Jeep Patriot and 2011-2014 Jeep Compass. They don't have locking differentials, big V8s, or chunky white letter tires. But they can be had with an extremely capable AWD system, complete with computerized traction management, skid plates, and tow hooks. There's also plenty of room in the back for all of your gear, and some models even have nifty fold-down speakers, so you can play your music at the campsite/tailgating. Power is supplied by a pair of thrifty 4-cylinder engines, and they have just enough power to get you where you need to be. But most owners wish their little Jeep came with a bit more muscle under the hood, which is why K&N developed the 57-1567 performance intake system.

K&N 57-1567 FIPK Performance Intake System installed on a Jeep Patriot 2.0L

The K&N 57-1567 FIPK Performance Intake System installed on a Jeep Patriot 2.0L

An internal combustion engine makes power by detonating gasoline inside the cylinders. This explosion forces the piston down, turning the crankshaft, and ultimately the wheels. In order to make the fuel burn, air has to be injected into the cylinders. This catalyst is piped to the throttle body through the stock air intake system, which collects it from outside the vehicle. The problem is, the factory intake on your Jeep 2.0L and 2.4L engines is very narrow and full of tight bends. When the outside air makes it past the thick paper air filter, it has to squeeze through the tiny intake tube and around those tight turns, causing it to slow down and become turbulent. By the time it reaches the cylinders, this hot, swirling air won't be potent enough to fully burn all of the fuel. To increase the horsepower in your little Jeep Patroit and Jeep Compass, you need to replace that warm air with oxygen-rich cold air. The additional oxygen molecules will create a more powerful explosion, which enables the engine to extract more energy/horsepower, from the same amount of fuel.

To get cold air into the engine, the K&N 57-1567 performance intake system ditches the restrictive factory air box and filter for a K&N performance air filter, which is protected from hot engine air by a rugged heat shield. The reusable air filter is made from a special cotton gauze material that provides superior filtration, and the ability to go up to 100,000 miles before it needs to be cleaned (depending on road conditions). It can also feed cooler air into the system, which then gets routed to the engine through a wide-diameter polyethylene intake tube that's been roto-molded to reduce air turbulence and restrictions. This K&N intake tube has integrated fittings for the factory air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose, enabling an install that is usually around 90-minutes. The 57-1567 cold air intake is also street legal in all 50 states. To avoid problems at the inspection station, each system is issued an Exemption Order (EO) number by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), along with an underhood decal to validate its compliance with state laws.

Dyno results for the K&N 57-1567 FIPK Performance Air Intake

To validate the performance gains, we installed a K&N 57-1567 FIPK cold air intake system on a stock 2012 Jeep Patriot 2.0L and dyno testing revealed an estimated increase of 6.35 horsepower and 5.25 ft-lb of torque. That will provide a noticeable difference when you hit the gas, where the additional airflow will sharpen the throttle response.

The K&N 57-1567 performance intake system is proudly made in the USA and its rugged construction will standup to whatever the trail or street throws at your Jeep. It's also backed by the K&N 10-Year/Million Mile Limited Warranty, so your performance gains are guaranteed to last. In addition, K&N also makes an entire line of Jeep performance parts, that can improve the efficiency of your oiling, fuel, and HVAC systems.
