Big "hogs" have been owning the road since the first V-Twin engine was introduced in 1909. These legendary motors have seen many incarnations: Flathead, Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead, Evolution, and Twin Cam 88. The latest generations 2008-2011 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 96 V-Twin and the 2009-2015 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 103 V-Twin contain numerous innovations that are designed to provide the low end torque that Harley's are known for. Lightweight pistons allow the engine to create power faster, while balance shafts help to offset vibrations on ridged mount applications like the Harley Softail. Each Harley-Davidson spins that drive belt by filling its twin-cylinders with a combination of gasoline and air. One of the most powerful pickup trucks is the Dodge Ram. For example, the 2015 model's base engine was a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 305-horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The optional engines included a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel that generates 240-horsepower and 420-lb-ft of torque or a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 395-horsepower and 410-lb-ft of torque.

Rear-wheel drive was standard on the 2015 1500, but four-wheel drive was also available as an option. The standard truck also features coil springs, which reviewers said offered a "more comfortable and composed ride than most rival…" An adjustable air suspension that is capable of raising and lowering the truck was also available as an option.

The 2015 Ram 1500 can tow up to 10,450 pounds and haul up to 1,900 pounds when properly equipped. The Nissan VQ Series V6 first debuted in 1994, and it was immediately praised for its high rpm power, and incredibly smooth operation. The key to the performance of the Nissan 350Z/Nissan 370Z is fuel and airflow management. Using a series of sophisticated electronic controls, the Nissan VQ can instantly adjust its behavior to achieve better fuel economy at low rpm's, or better performance at higher rpm's. Maintaining airflow is critical to the performance, which is why both Z cars employ dual air boxes to maximize airflow to the engine. These air boxes are fitted with paper air filters that are intended to stop dirt from ever reaching the combustion chamber. 1. What was the first time a GM engine powered a Jeep? Yes, although it was called the Jeep Dauntless V6, it was a cast-iron block Buick V6 engine developed from the (ahead of its time) Buick 215 CID all-aluminum V8. In 1967 GM sold the tooling to the 225 CID V6 to Jeep, as car buyers were mostly interested in V8s. Jeep then sold the engine back in 1974 to GM as AMC had purchased Jeep and didn’t require two six cylinder engines. BTW, the all-aluminum V8 went to Rover where it was in service for many years. 2. What role did the founder of Willys have in the development of the Jeep? None. John Willys, the founder of the company that popularized the Jeep, didn’t live to see the company’s most famous creation that carried his name. He died in 1935. And the correct pronunciation of his name is Willis, not Willies.

3. It’s known that Willys did not develop the original “Jeep” concept, but who did? The first concept of a Jeep was designed in 1938 by Karl Probst of the minuscule American Bantam Company of Butler, PA. The government liked what they saw but in no way was American Bantam capable of supplying wartime needs. Instead the production contracts went to Ford and Willys, who combined produced over 600,000 Jeeps during WWII. 5. Did any other companies manufacture Jeeps? One example from Japan is the Mitsubishi-produced CJ-3B, built under license from 1953 to 1998.
