Highflying Tyler Bowers rebounds with big podium leading win in Tulsa
If it's possible for an arenacross team to have a perfect season, our money is on Team Babbitt's Monster Energy TiLube Kawasaki riders to make it so. From the opening round of the 2010 AMA Arenacross Series opener, held at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Team Babbitt's three riders have persuasively sorted out the conundrum of "who's your daddy."
Josh "The Sheriff" Demuth is back in town with Kansas City victory
The team of Chad Johnson, Josh Demuth and Tyler Bower have laid claim to at least two podium tiers at every race of the series so far. Team Babbitt took all three podium spots in Kansas City, Missouri and last week at the legendary BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma . After another clean sweep in Des Moines, in the last race of last season, Babbitt committed that he hoped it would be a sign of things to come for the 2010 season. His words appear to have been prophetic.
"The Team is just clicking on all cylinders this year, I couldn't be happier. Sweeping the podium two times so far this season is the best feeling a team owner could ever have," said Eddie Babbitt. "I would believe that we have a combination of great leadership and rider talent, and the fact is that every single person on this team wants to win badly. The excitement and moral at the Babbitt's Superstore dealership is unreal and I would say it is the same way at the track every weekend as well. We have felt this before, so we know the feeling, and we love to feel this way, it's very hard to explain."
Team Bibbitt's sweeps Tulsa
Babbitt and his crew can explain their success with K&N motorcycle filters though. They believe that K&N makes the greatest products and wouldn't consider running anything else. In fact, Babbitt says since '06 all of their race bikes have been running K&N filters all around (KA-2506XD - XStream Series Motocross Air Filter and KN-112 - Performance Oil Filters).
So what does the Babbitt camp have in mind for the rest of the season and for the future? Perhaps they would consider a move from arenacross podium supremacy to total world dominance. "We are considering doing something with maybe the balance of the SX (Supercross) season and possibly outdoors, maybe even the Canadian Nationals. Time will tell and sponsor involvement will also be imperative," says Babbitt.
The AMA Arenacross Series continues next weekend from Youngstown, Ohio at the Coveli Center.
