NHRA JEGS Pacific SPORTSnationals Presented by K&N at Auto Club Dragway
- Oct 8, 2008
The third annual NHRA JEGS Pacific SPORTSnationals presented by K&N at Auto Club Dragway took place in Fontana, California.
“Mike Ferderer drove the K&N Filters/Pennzoil 2004 Pontiac Grand Am to victory after six rounds of eliminations and beat opponent Chris Lindsay in the final round in Super Comp. “This K&N Filters car has been deadly all year,” said Ferderer. “It ran close to perfect all day because of my K&N hood scoop and air filter. Even though it was warm when we started, then cool, then warm again, I had some of my best speeds with K&N.”
Ferderer is number one in the world in Lucas Oil Super Gas points

One week before the Fontana race in Medford, Oregon Ferderer bested Terry Wilcox in Super Gas at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. Ferderer has been running in Super Gas Class since the beginning of the season. After Medford, the win put him at number one in the world in Lucas Oil Super Gas points.
Ferderer can only claim points at two more races, one is National and one is Divisional. Ferderer switched from the Super Gas class to the Super Comp class at Fontana. He did this to save his last national event points earning race to claim at the NHRA World Finals in Pomona, California. He plans to claim his last divisional points race in Las Vegas. Ferderer won two races in two weeks in two different classes.
“If I get lucky, I’ll also win in Vegas,” he said. “But no matter where the points end up after Vegas I’m going into Pomona and I’m going there to win. Hopefully I’ll get to wear my penguin suit at the NHRA season ending awards banquet.”
