“I was really looking forward to this week,” said Swanson. “I knew that we would have to be at the top of our game.” Swanson drove well at Perris and brought home a solid third place finish. At Ventura, the GOODWINE glass, K&N Filters, Lucas Oil Ford Focus midget finished 5th place. “We started the main in the 8th position and worked our way up through traffic,” said Swanson. “It is tough to pass the other cars on this particular track.”

The Swanson Motorsports Team headed into the final race of the series at Kings Speedway in Hanford, California. Swanson was tied for 3rd in points. The starting lineup was set by qualifying times and the top six cars were inverted for the main event.
“My dad and I discussed strategy concerning playing the inversion,” said Swanson. “I decided I didn’t want to play the games and wanted to go for it. We ended up with the fast time of 11.392 on the second lap.” In the main, Swanson was able to wind his way through traffic and bring home another solid third place finish and took second place in points in the three races series championship.
“K&N performed as expected, perfectly,” said Kirk Swanson, Cody’s father. “We use K&N air filters, breather filters and oil filters on our USAC Ford Focus midget. K&N is easy to service and provides long life and protection for our engines. K&N has sponsored and supported us since Cody’s early race days in karts.”
Swanson will race again the first week of September in Hanford, California at Kings Speedway.
