K&N's Race Specific Air Filter Technology Increases Performance For Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade
- Nov 6, 2009
The Honda CBR1000RR was developed as a direct result of technologies learned from the design of Honda’s MotoGP race bike, the RC211V. Honda has used the name Fireblade since the early nineties beginning with the CBR900RR.
However, it wasn’t until 2004 that the Fireblade received an official 1000 cc liter-bike power plant. The cutting edge 2004 CBR1000RR Fireblade set a new standard in sportbike performance and gave its competition something to aspire toward.
Here to help the CBR1000RR stand out from the on track competition is K&N’s new race specific air filter (HA-1004R) designed to increase performance in 2004-2007 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade models.
K&N’s line of race specific air filters are designed for asphalt racing only. They are not intended for dirt track, off-road or highway use. Part number HA-1004R is very different from its stock replacement air filter counter part (HA-1004).
Part number HA-1004R includes a pair of special two-ply cotton media air filters. HA-1004R uses a unique pleat pattern to be less restrictive, providing extra airflow. As a result this K&N racing air filter increases horsepower and acceleration for the racetrack.
K&N part number HA-1004R will fit directly inside your OE air box assembly. No cutting or fitting modifications are required to install this filter, but fuel management modifications will be necessary to obtain optimum performance.
K&N air filters are washable and reusable. K&N’s HA-1004R is warranted against defective workmanship for one year after the date of purchase with no mileage limitation.
For 2004-2007 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade motorcycles used in normal non-racing environments, K&N recommends its four layer OE replacement air filter, part number HA-1004 for excellent engine protection and air flow.
K&N also offers a line of performance oil filters for use on and off the racetrack. Our canister style oil filters feature high flow rates, a heavy-duty canister, high burst strength and a 17mm wrench-off nut that is pre-drilled for safety wire attachment. K&N oil filters are ideal for race applications, hard to reach oil filters, high-performance engines, and use with synthetic oils. This makes the 2004-2007 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade an ideal candidate for part number KN-204.
