K&N's Air Intake System Adds an Estimated 5.7 Horsepower to 2006 through 2011 Honda Civic 1.8L
Jan 8, 2007
The 2007 Honda Civic represents an extreme transformation of design and dynamics.
The high-performance characteristics are fine tuned for improved traction and
cornering performance. Its futuristic looks show off an advanced profile with a
sleek windshield angle.
Typhoon Air Intake for Honda Civic
K&N Engineering has released a new 69-Series Typhoon Air Intake (69-1013TS)
in powder coated silver for the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Honda Civic equipped with a 1.8 liter engine. The vehicle
design played a major roll in the development and design of this Intake Kit.
"Special care was taken to ensure that the Intake System followed the Civics
lines," said K&N Project Technician Nestor Cabrera. "Our kit will not obstruct
or rub against other parts in the engine compartment."
Power Gain Chart for Honda Civic with K&N Air Intake
K&N dynamometer tests show a 5.7 horsepower gain @ 5700 RPM for this
Typhoon Intake. "The horsepower gain is exceptional for this size engine," said
Cabrera.
"There is symmetry between
69-1013TS
and the engine compartment. We designed the heat shield with provisions for the
factory fresh air duct so that the filter (RU-4960)
could receive a consistent flow of fresh cool air."
It takes about an hour to
install this kit with simple hand tools. K&N Typhoon Systems improve both
engine performance and under the hood aesthetics.
