Eight drivers won drag racing titles at the JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals in 2016

The JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals presented by Quick Fuel are held at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Eight classes of drag racing, including three in the K&N Super Shootouts, will compete for thousands of dollars in prize money and trophies.

Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street drivers will compete in the K&N Filters Super Shootouts. The field of 16 cars will be determined through event time trials.

Tyler Bohannon from Louisville, Kentucky, won the Super Comp title at the SPORTSnationals last year. He defeated Nick Folk from Durand, Illinois, in the final and won his first national event.

Craig Anderson from Waxahachie, Texas, won the Super Gas title last year, defeating Rob Stigall from Brentwood, Tennessee, in the final.

Michelle Furr from Galax, Virginia, won the the Super Street title in her 1968 Camaro over Jimmy Bannister from La Vergne, Tennessee, in the final. It was her third national event title.

JEGS has sponsored and supported the NHRA SPORTSnationals for 12 years and recently agreed to continue sponsoring the event.

The Hemi Shootout for 1968 Hemi Barracudas and 1968 Dodge Darts will race on May 27. More than 20 drivers are expected to enter the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event.

Craig Bourgeois from Metairie, Louisiana, won the Competition Eliminator title in 2016. It was his eighth NHRA national title. He defeated Jason Coan in the final.

Brad Zaskowski from Grand Rapids, Michigan, won the Super Stock title over Jimmy Hidalgo Jr.

Houston Raikes from Bradgordsville, Kentucky, won the Stock Eliminator title. He beat Craig Marshall from Columbus, Ohio, in the final.

Jerry Albert from Avon, Ohio, won the Top Sportsman title over Greg Coffman from Russellville, Kentucky.

Danny Nelson from Batesville, Arkansas, won the Top Dragster title over Bob Mandell III from Culleoka, Tennessee.

The 200 mph Racing RV’s Top Dragster/Top Sportsman Fast Four competition and the C-Tech Manufacturing Comp Fast Four two-round shootout will take place on May 27.

The elimination rounds of the SPORTSnationals and the K&N Filters Super Shootouts will conclude on May 28.
