Black Stallion Plans to Dominate Monster Jam Series in Connecticut
- Mar 13, 2009
The Black Stallion and the Iron Warrior resume the Monster Jam Tour in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They had a strong show in Baltimore, Maryland where things started off strong with the wheelie competition.
Black Stallion driver Michael Vaters set the bar in the competition and Maximum Destruction knew the only way to win was to pull of something spectacular. Maximum Destruction flipped and landed on its roof. Vaters K&N Ford Powered Black Stallion come in second in the wheelie competition and tied for third in freestyle.
The K&N Powered Black Stallion entered the racing portion of the show in front of a sold out crowd at The First Mariner Arena. Trey Myers and the Iron Warrior set the bar high with a score of 21.
Vaters launched the Black Stallion off the 16 foot high freestyle dirt landing ramp, not once, but three times. “Then, I pulled my special reverser over the van stack,” said Vaters. “This all happened within the 60 second time limit.”
Vaters uses K&N air and oil filters on his Monster Trucks. “Over my many years in this business I’ve used a lot of products, but K&N is the one that can handle the dirty and dusty environment during Monster Jam competitions,” said Vaters. “We are known nationwide for our wild and crazy driving and the ability to push our engines to the limit. We’re hard on our motors and K&N gives us the protection we need for competition.”
In the final show of the weekend, Vaters and the K&N Ford Powered Black Stallion won the racing championship. The team is looking forward to another win in Maryland.
