American Revolution Weekend Presented by Chevrolet Kicks Off at Eldora Speedway
- Sep 21, 2007
The Defending World of Outlaws champion returns for a single-night program that
kicks off the American Revolution Weekend presented by Chevrolet at Eldora
Speedway.
The last time current points leader Donny Schatz was at Eldora, he was in a class of his own behind the wheel of his Global ParkerStore sponsored No. 15 with K&N Engineering Products.
“We’re excited to get back on the track at Eldora,” said Schatz. “It’s not one of my best tracks, but last year we started to figure it out. I know there are a lot of guys who really get around that place well, so we’re just hoping to continue what we’ve been doing the past year and a half.”
Consistency has been the key for Schatz all season. He enters Friday night’s race in western Ohio with 61 top ten finishes in 67 World of Outlaw starts. Those statistics do not include his second consecutive triumph in the Knoxville Nationals finale.
“We won the championship last season by being consistent and that’s been our plan all along this year,” said Schatz. “There’s only a small number of races left this year, so we’ve got to get every one that we can from here on out.”
There are only 11 more events left and six of them are at tracks where Schatz has already won in 2007. “I feel like I’ve got the best crew out there,” said Schatz. “My guys worked hard to give me a race car this good. Our K&N Engineering Carbon Fiber Airbox helps us achieve maximum horsepower at every race.”
The race will be taped by SPEED-TV and air on Sunday, September 30 at 2 p.m. EST.
