Add 7.17 Horsepower to Non-Turbo Chrysler PT Cruiser with K&N Air Intake Kit
- Jul 21, 2008
The Chrysler PT Cruiser is known for its retro styling and spacious interior. Handling and steering are good and its ride is smooth.
K&N Engineering has developed a performance air intake system (57-1550) that is street legal in 50 states for the 2006 through 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser with 2.4 liter non turbo engine. K&N dynamometer testing shows a 7.17 horsepower gain at 5004 rpm.

The 57-1550 features a specially molded intake tube and a large K&N air filter. The air filter, RP-4660, fits into the stock location. Cooler outside air is directed toward the K&N air filter from the factory fresh air duct.
K&N developed a new heat shield for this particular engine and designed the tube to accommodate front wheel drive and the transmission. The electronic components under the hood were repositioned with the new design of the PT cruiser. The heat shield isolates the K&N air filter from the engine heat. This in turn keeps a cooler air charge going into the engine for an instant power gain.
The high flow technology invented by K&N and made in the USA provides the best balance of airflow and filtration. The RP-4660 is also washable and reusable and can go up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is necessary. The 57-1550 can be easily installed in 90 minutes or less and is backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
The 57-1550 fits the following PT Cruisers:
2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L
2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L
2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L
2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L
