- Nov 14, 2016
Introduced in March 2007, the Hyundai Genesis was conceived in 2003. It took Hyundai three years to perfect the body design and the total cost of the project to create the car was $500 million over a 23-month development period. It is said that the Korean automaker was trying to create its answer to the BMW 5-Series sedan. In fact, in the press release that announced the introduction of the car, Hyundai claimed that the Genesis exceeded the BMW in torsional rigidity by 14%. Four engines were available to power the front-engine, rear-wheel drive sedan - a 3.3-liter Lambda V6, a 3.8-liter Lambda V6, a 4.6-liter Tau V8 and a 5.0-liter Tau V8. Three transmissions were available including a 6-speed Aisin B-600 automatic, a 6-speed ZF 6HP26 automatic, and an 8-speed automatic. The 2015 Hyundai Genesis was totally redesigned. The full size, rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan comes with a choice of two engines - a 3.8-liter V6 that delivers 311-horsepower and 293-lb-ft of torque and a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 420-horsepower and 383-lb-ft of torque. It is also available in all-wheel drive. Standard features of the Genesis sedan include 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, a rearview camera, heated mirrors, automatic wipers, cruise control, automatic climate control, keyless ignition and entry, heated eight-way power front seats with four-way power lumbar, leather upholstery, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a touchscreen interface, navigation system, real-time traffic, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, Hyundai’s Blue Link emergency telematics system, a seven-speaker audio system with a CD player, an auxiliary audio jack, USB/iPod interface, HD radio and satellite radio. Specifically engineered for the 2015 and 2016 Hyundai Genesis, the K&N PS-7035 Pro Series cartridge oil filter features a high flow filter design to improve performance. It is versatile. It can be used on any type of oil including synthetic, conventional, or blended. It is engineered to offer superior filtration, which allows it to capture and hold 99% of harmful contaminants.
