In the spring of 2012, at the Auto China show, Mercedes-Benz provided its first glimpse of the CLA-Class to an enthusiastic public. Those viewing the new car were immediately taken by its progressive design, sporty proportions and muscular lines. Less than a year later the CLA was formally launched at North American International Auto Show. The new compact four-door sedan is based on the Mercedes-Benz A-Class compact and the B-Class compact model platform. The new CLA is being assembled in the Mercedes-Benz factory in Kecskemet, Hungary. Dubbed the "baby CLS", the CLA models are priced and geared towards attracting younger buyers. All CLA-Class models are powered by four-cylinder engines, including a choice of 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline version listed below, or a choice of highly efficient diesels which can use the K&N high flow 33-2995 air filter.
