2007-2016 Jeep Wrangler JK 2.8L Common-Rail Diesel Engine Upgraded With K&N Air Filter

The third generation 2007-2016 Jeep Wrangler, commonly known as the Wrangler JK, can be equipped with an optional 2.8L common-rail diesel four-cylinder engine. The common rail diesel (CRD) engine is produced by VM Motori Cento in Ferrara, Italy and produces excellent torque ratings that rival the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. However, the Jeep Wrangler 2.8L diesel L4 promises increased fuel efficiency and increased fuel range. Diesel engine technology is more commonly accepted outside of the United States, and as a result the Jeep Wrangler cannot be equipped with the 2.8L CRD engine in the U.S.
Owners of 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Jeep Wrangler JK 2.8L diesel models can equip their CRD powered SUV with a replacement diesel air filter from the authority in washable air filters, K&N. Calling this test dust coarse is almost absurd, as 22% of the dust is rated at 10 microns or less. To provide perspective, a human blood cell is typically between 6 and 8 microns across.
