2007, 2008 and 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby Ready for Action with New K&N Air Filter

The most powerful Mustang on the road is the Shelby. With 450-plus horsepower, the 5.4 liter 32-valve V8 is similar to the engine in the GT. Ford designed a new low-profile intake manifold to fit under the special hood for this state-of-the-art performance car.

K&N Engineering has designed a washable, reusable, panel air filter (33-2365) for the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby 5.4 liter V8 engine. K&N Air Filters flow more air safely. We found an optimal blend of high air flow, filtration efficiency, durability and dust capacity. Our goal is to design filters with the maximum possible airflow achievable while providing excellent engine protection.

K&N has sold more than 20 million air filters since 1969. The secret to our success lies in the unique characteristics of our filter medium that was originally developed by K&N all those years ago. We just wanted to win races and stumbled on a cotton filtration technology destined to be great.

K&N Air Filters consist of four to six sheets of cotton gauze layered between two sheets of aluminum wire mesh. The media is then pleated and oiled to enhance its filtering capabilities and overall performance. The result is an air filter that allows more air into an engine while protecting it for the life of your vehicle.

Our replacement air filters are backed by the K&N Million Mile Warranty and will be the last air filter your vehicle will ever need.

Defending World Champion Jason Crump plans to close the points gap between his sixth place standing and the leaders. The 31-year-old double World Champion just completed the World Cup for Australia and scored at the top of the pack. He is also encouraged since his podium finish at Cardiff a little over three weeks ago.

“Cardiff was a good test for me,” said Crump. “I had just two points from my first two rides. I had to get through the final and I was glad to be back on the podium again. At Prague, I’ll be heading for an ever higher place on the podium.”

The Czech Grand Prix will be held at the Marketa Stadium. Crump is familiar with the venue and has tasted success there previously. “I’ve won three times there but record books don’t win races,” he said. “I’ve got to be on the ball the entire night, get my stats right and get the points during the heats. From there, I have to get in the final and win.”

There are still six races to go for the Australian ace. He still has a chance to take the series for the third time. Crump uses K&N Engineering products. “The K&N Filters keep the dirt out of the engine,” he said. “K&N is the best for dirt track racing.”

K&N Sponsored 9-year-old Wins Trophy at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park

Marshall Stewart is only 9-years-old but he was able to capture a trophy for the first half of the 2007 Summer Cross 65cc Open Championship at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in California.

The Series is split in half during the summer. Marshall was awarded the trophy on the first day of the second half of the series. “The day started out really well,” said Chris Roberts, Marshall’s father. “He was really excited and jumped up and down with his trophy. It is almost as big as he is.”

“We use K&N Filters exclusively on Marshall’s Motorcycle,” said Roberts. “With the dry and dusty conditions at the track, we need engine protection as much as good air flow. K&N’s KA-8088 provides what we need.”

Marshall has been racing for three years and is known for his consistent finishes. In the second half of the Summer Cross Series Marshall started with a rebuilt Kawasaki. “I jetted the bike wrong and practice one ended quickly for Marshall,” said Roberts. “After a quick adjustment Marshall was flying in practice two,” said Roberts. “He had to get used to the new power in his Kawasaki 65.”

Unfortunately, two laps into the race, Marshall’s 64 went down and he was pinned under the bike. “He experienced his first ride in the EMT Mule,” said Roberts. “My son had a bruised ankle. They gave him an ice pack, and an ace bandage and Marshall went back to the track to cheer on his competition.”

Marshall’s father works for K&N Engineering as a National Accounts Manager. He also uses K&N products on his tow vehicle. “We travel back and forth between races all the time,” he said. “I haul a trailer, bikes and parts and my Nissan Titan needs extra power. With K&N’s 63-6012 on my Titan I gain an additional 11 horsepower. It makes getting to the track that much easier.”

Marshall will be back next week to continue the series.

K&N Engineering has designed a new cold air intake (69-4517TTK) in textured black for the 2006 to 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt 2.4 liter engine. Built for performance and show K&N Typhoon Air Intake Systems are proven on a rear-wheel dynamometer to increase horsepower and torque.

K&N dynamometer test shows a 15.94 horsepower gain @ 5900 RPM for this K&N air intake. The radius adapter helps provide smooth air flow into the intake tube. The 69-4517TTK uses the factory Mass Air Flow sensor and a Lifetime K&N High Flow Air Filter (RU-5147).

The heat shield isolates the K&N engine compartment and allows the K&N Air Filter to receive a consistent flow of cool fresh air. The mass air sensor is installed in the K&N intake tube and is an important part of the overall horsepower gain with this system.

The design of the Cobalt played a major roll in the development of this air intake system. K&N Engineering took special care to ensure that it followed the Cobalt's lines.

It takes 90 minutes or less to install most K&N Air Intakes with common tools. K&N Air Intake Systems come with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Harley-Davidson Twin Cam Enthusiasts Recommend K&N Air Filter Assembly

K&N's popular custom air filter assembly, part RK-3909-1, was designed to provide better performance while retaining the stock appearance of 1999-2007 Twin Cam® Harley-Davidson® engines (see applications).  It comes with a powder coated billet aluminum back plate that eliminates external breathers and features a built-in, dyno-tuned velocity stack.  The resulting design provides significant airflow increase to the engine without sacrificing filtration.  This product has generated a lot of excitement from Harley-Davidson motorcycle owners.

Brian Keller of Boston, Massachusetts has a 2005 Harley Davidson Road King Classic with 27,500 miles. He also has a K&N Engineering Air Filter Assembly (RK-3909-1).

“K&N makes a terrific product,” said Keller. “After adding Bassani True-Dual Powercurve pipes with Reverse Cone Megaphone slip-ons, a Dynojet power commander and the K&N High Flow Air Filter, I gained some serious horsepower and torque.”

Keller said having a motorcycle can be all about power and torque, but safety is also important. “When I get on the highway I have the throttle I need,” he said. “The bike has instant power with a little twist.”

One of the reasons Keller bought his Twin Cam Harley Davidson was for long distance riding. “It’s super smooth and I can go 400 miles in comfort,” he said. “I recommend RK-3909-1 to everyone I ride with. When I added the K&N Air Filter it was a smooth ride all the time. It is like night and day with the K&N Air Filter. My Harley runs like it’s brand new.”

“Wizard Cycles of Nashua, New Hampshire installed the K&N Air Filter Assembly and pipes for me,” said Keller. “Speeds Performance Plus of Elk River, Minnesota installed my Power Commander and I dyno-tuned my bike at Laconia Bike Week this year. K&N gives me the extra juice I need and allows me to keep up with the Screaming Eagle Harley engines.  It’s also about having a good time, knowing I have a fantastic K&N Air Filter."

Kenneth Roberg of Franklin Park, Illinois also installed K&N’s RK-3909-1. “At the same time I installed a new exhaust system and a fuel pack which coordinates the right fuel mix with my setup,” said Roberg. “For the most part I am satisfied and have noticed better fuel mileage. By the way, the K&N Filter fits behind the stock cover perfectly.”

Paul Haberstroh is a professional photographer in Lafayette, Colorado. He knows film and he knows K&N Filters. Haberstroh also drives a 2007 Harley Davidson Road King Classic around his beautiful small town.

“I’ve used K&N Air Filters for as long as I can remember and I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I remember,” said the 49-year-old. “I used to ride a BMW, but I went to Harley when they came out with the Twin-Cam engine and the retro classic styling.”

Haberstroh equipped his Harley with K&N Engineering’s RK-3909-1.  “I really noticed a difference in the throttle,” said Haberstroh. “K&N also improved my acceleration. It’s amazing how good the gas mileage is with K&N on my Harley. This is a very comfortable machine. I can go hundreds of miles on it and gas mileage is important.”

The Colorado wedding photographer also drives a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up.  “I put a K&N 63-Series AirCharger Air Intake on my Dodge,” he said. “I live at 6000 feet and my work frequently takes me up to 10,000 feet in elevation. Normally I’d lose performance, but with K&N I never have to worry about that.  My Dodge works well in the thin air with K&N. It really makes a difference in performance for people like me who live in the higher elevations.”

Haberstroh quit his day job ten years ago to start Distinctive Imaging, Inc., in Colorado. He took his camera and he took his commitment to K&N.
