The Powerful Dodge Magnum Shows a 21 + Horsepower Gain with K&N's FIPK

The 2006 Dodge Magnum is a big block muscle car designed with the latest technology. Its Hemi is a high point of V8 performance engine design. K&N Engineering improved this powerful engine with its Generation II 57- Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-1542).

K&N tested a 2005 Dodge Magnum RT 5.7L V8 on its in house dynamometer. The result was a 21.09 horsepower gain at 5216 RPM. The 57-1542 FIPK is also made for the 2006 and 2007 Dodge Magnum with the 6.1 and 5.7 liter engine, 2008 to 2014 Dodge Challenger 6.1L, 2005 to 2014 Dodge Charger 6.1L and 5.7L V8 and 2005 to 2014 Chrysler 300C with the 6.1 and 5.7 liter engines.

By replacing the factory air intake assembly for the Magnums, Chargers, Chrysler 300C with K&N's 57-Series FIPK, engines get cooler air with less restriction.

Increase Horsepower on the GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado with K&N's Gen2 FIPK

"The biggest hurdle our K&N Engineers had to face was designing an intake tube that would not need to be reprogrammed, was able to make the power gain and not have the check engine light come on," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "It took an extra two months on the development side to get everything right. We also had to bring in three additional trucks to verify what we gained on the first three test vehicles. It was a lot of extra work but we developed a tube that met our standards and the trucks liked."

The 57-Series FIPK uses K&N's high flow, washable and reusable air filter. It is designed to be installed in 90 minutes or less with common tools. By replacing your factory air intake assembly for this car with K&N Engineering's Generation II 57-Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-2565) your engine can see an additional 15.26 horsepower gain at 6000 RPM. The 2005 V8 Mustang GT 4.6L V8 F/1 was one of the first vehicles that had a Hydrocarbon trap. K&N engineers were able to use the Hydrocarbon trap and stock air box to make an intake kit with a special adaptor. "The car's ability to pass a smog test was the biggest challenge with the Hydrocarbon trap," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. Rain and Mud Almost Stop The World of Outlaws Race at Sharon Speedway

Rain postponed Friday’s World of Outlaws race at Lernerville Speedway, but the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team moved onto Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio Saturday May 20th.

The Ohio race track was not looking good either, after days of rain the Sharon Speedway was also mud track. The promoters however, brought in a helicopter to hover less than 10 feet above the track to speed up the drying process. After three hours of slow laps via helicopter and tractor work the race was able to start.

Jeremy Campbell uses K&N Engineering products. “K&N filters have made a difference on our engine’s performance this season,” said Katie Schroeder of Jeremy Campbell Motorsports. “We are either covered in dust or mud and going from one extreme to the other. The one constant is K&N keeps the dirt out and protects our engines from these extreme conditions.”

The race at Sharon Speedway was supposed to be Day 2 of the Commonwealth Clash, $50,000 to win Challenge. Since Lernerville was a bust, the option to start last and try to win from the back was given to Donny Schatz. He accepted, and the Sharon Speedway race counted as even points for all drivers.

Campbell started 7th in the A feature after transferring from his heat and finishing 7th in the new one dash race format. Campbell surged to the front and was running second, hot on the trail of leader Brooke Tatnell. When it was all over, Campbell ended with a solid fourth place.

“We had a great run at Sharon and it looks like we are finally going to get away from the rain and start racing more,” said Campbell. “It’s hard to get into a grove when you have a lot of rainouts, but I’m felling good going into the next couple of weeks.”

The team is headed to Charlotte, North Carolina to race at The Dirt Track at Lowe’s motor Speedway. “We’ve been down at the Penske Technologies Wind Tunnel working on the cars,” said Campbell. “The guys have been working with the K&N Filters and everything looks ready for what should be a great showing Wednesday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.”

Volkswagen Golf Gains 8 Horsepower with K&N's 69-Series Typhoon Air Intake System

If you own a 1998, 1999, 2000 or 2001 Volkswagen Golf with a 2.0L engine you know the standard four-cylinder engine is good for 115 horsepower. K&N Engineering has released a new 69-Series Typhoon Air Intake System.

K&N tests have shown an 8 horsepower gain @ 6000 RPM for this intake.  "The position of the mass air sensor and the type and position of the filter used are very critical for power gains," said K&N Project Designer Joost Adriaans. "We did a lot of testing with all these variables."

There are two eye catching choices for this 69-Series Intake System. Consumers have a choice of polished aluminum or powder coated blue. The polished aluminum finish on this 69-Series Intake System is part number 69-9752TP. For the powder coated blue the part number is 69-9752TB. Blue is a very popular color on the Volkswagen Golf in Europe.

No matter your color preference K&N Engineers have made sure the design on the system provides maximum power to meet consumer demands. "The intake system is quite long and it makes it harder to develop due to alignment issues," said Adriaans. "But we were able to take advantage of the vehicle's design with this kit by positioning the filter far away from the engine. Modifying one of the grill inserts provides extra air to the filter."
