K&N Develops New Air Filter for Mercedes Benz Diesel Owners

The smaller Mercedes Benz A and B Class have modern styling and a host of technical improvements. The B-Class is based on the A-Class which is sold in Europe. Both share an engineering design developed by Mercedes. The diesel engine and other drive train components are located under the floor of the vehicle for more legroom and safety.

Air Filter for Mercedes Benz A160, A180, A200, B180 and B200 L4 Diesel
K&N Engineering has designed an air filter (33-2915) to fit in the factory air box of the 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Mercedes Benz A160 and A 180 2.0L L4 diesel; the 2004 to 2011 A200 and 2.0L L4 diesel; and the 2005 to 2009 B180 and B200 2.0L L4 diesel. Adding performance is simple with the drop-in design, remove the disposable air filter in the Mercedes and replace it with the K&N Air Filter.

Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum screen. The filter captures airborne dirt particles while allowing high volume air flow. These particles then cling to the outside of the filter and become part of the filtering media.

The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter is designed to increase horsepower and acceleration, while providing excellent filtration. The K&N Filter (33-2915) is 1.063 inches in height (27mm) with an outside length of 15.063 inches (383mm) and an outside width of 7 inches (178mm).

K&N invented the concept of washable, reusable filters more than 35 years ago. Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum screen. The filters allow high volume air flow while capturing airborne dirt particles. These particles then cling to the outside of the filter and become part of the filtering media.

K&N Air Filter Released for Hybrid Toyota Prius with 1.5 Liter Engine

Fuel economy and environmental impact make the Toyota Prius one of the best-selling gas-electric hybrids in the United States. In 2004 Toyota redesigned the Prius, turning it into a midsize car and re-engineering its electrical and mechanical systems. By 2006 the Prius had redesigned taillights and headlights and new advanced airbags.

K&N Engineering has designed a Lifetime Replacement Air Filter (33-2329) for the 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Toyota Prius 1.5L.

Lift the hood of the Prius and the K&N Air Filter is custom designed to fit in the factory air box. The drop-in design means adding performance is simple, just remove the disposable air filter in the Prius and remove the adhesive backing from the gasket. Install the gasket around the smaller orifice on the air box. Install K&N's Air Filter (33-2329) in the air box.

"The air comes in through the back side of the filter and goes through the passage back down to the engine," said K&N Air Filter Project Manager Joost Adriaans. "We created a window of sorts in order to get a seal. This means there is no outside interference from unfiltered air."

The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter is designed to increase horsepower and acceleration while providing excellent filtration. K&N's 33-2329 is 0.875 inches in height (22mm) with an outside length of 11.563 inches (294mm) and an outside width of 7.688 inches (195mm).

Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum screen. K&N Air Filters capture airborne dirt particles while allowing high volume air flow. These particles then cling to the outside of the filter and become part of the filtering media. K&N's Filter's are environmentally friendly and reduce the volume of disposable air filters that end up in landfills.

K&N Engineering Masters Citroen's Unique Air Path with New Air Filter

The 1.8L engine on the Citroen C5 is capable of 117 BHP. Some of the equipment on the 2006 includes ABS, emergency brake assist and a unique Hydractive 3 suspension. The C-5 can read the road and adapt its ride set-up depending on ground surface, speed and the way the driver is operating. Sensors strategically located around the car feed information to a central control system that can change both spring and damper rates as necessary.

K&N Engineering has designed a Lifetime Replacement Air Filter (33-2911) for the 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Citroen C5 1.8L L4. Lift the hood of the C5 and the K&N Air Filter is custom designed to fit in the factory air box. The drop-in design means adding performance is simple, just remove the disposable air filter in the Citroen C5 and replace it with K&N's Air Filter (33-2911). The 33-2911 also fits the 2007 to 2009 Citroen C6 3.0L, the 2005 to 2009 Peugeot 407 models with the 2.0L, 2.2L and 3.0L engines.

"The air path on the Citroen engine is unique when compared to other vehicles," said K&N Air Filter Project Manager Joost Adriaans. "The air does not travel in a straight path, from top to bottom on the Citroen. Instead, it curves through the unique design of this K&N Filter back to the bottom of the airbox."

The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter is designed to increase horsepower and acceleration while providing excellent filtration. The 33-2911 is 1 inch in height (25mm) with an outside length of 14.125 inches (359mm) and an outside width of 6 inches (152mm).

Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum screen. World of Outlaws 2006 Sprint Car Champ is Ready for 2007

“We had a phenomenal year and all of our hard work paid off,” said Schatz. “To be a World of Outlaws driver for 10 years is quite an accomplishment, but to be a champion is like a dream come true. We’ve spent a lot of years trying to reach this point and this year we saw a lot of things that proved we were the best team out here.”

Schatz was consistent early in the season and won races in March that helped establish the ParkerStore No. 15 J&J with Shaver power as the team to beat. With his 17 “A” feature victories, including three of the final five nights of the season, Schatz ended the season with a 364 point advantage. He led the series in other categories statistically including: 42 top five finishes, 9 fast-times, 2 track records and 441 laps led.

The wins started early and often throughout the season as Schatz spread his 19 overall WoO victories by winning two in March, one in April, two in May, three in June, three in July, three in August, two in September and three in October.

Schatz Motorsports collected $200,000 in prize money for earning the WoO Title, adding to a career-best race earnings mark of $372,415. That figure does not include over $160,000 he took home for his super week at the Knoxville Nationals.

“We are fortunate to work with such great product sponsors and without them we wouldn’t be here,” said Schatz. “The folks at K&N Engineering build a Carbon Airbox that is second to none. When you are racing, you have to be totally confident in all of your components.”

The WoO Championship celebration is over and the 2006 WoO Champion has already started to get back to business. Schatz will return to the driver’s seat in Western Australia on November 8th, 10th and 11th. He’ll also return home to Fargo, North Dakota for a month before leaving again in late December for a four-week schedule at Parramatta City Raceway near Sydney, Australia.
