Boiling Springs, South Carolina homemaker Angela Horn has locked in the win in the Mideast Hare Scramble Association ATV Women’s Series for the 4th year in a row.

Horn competes in her Honda 400EX ATV through just about any kind of terrain. “I’ve gone over rocks, through the mud, sand and silt on courses that can be six to 12 miles long,” said Horn. “It’s usually a 1 ½ hour race and I don’t stop.
I love the mud and the races, once I get started it's awesome. My motto is, if your bones are not showing just keep on going.”

The next race in the Hare Scramble will be in Winnesboro, South Carolina. There are only two races left in the season and Horn accumulated more points than anyone else for the series win.
Horn started racing in 2001. “My brothers rode and one day I jumped on the back for a ride,” she said. “That is not the way to ride a quad, so I decided to drive my own. I wanted more control and started racing really aggressive people. They don’t baby me the way my brothers did.”
Horn also races in the Women’s Novice division of the Can-Am Grand National Cross County Championship Series. She is in 10th place overall. “We couldn’t race in all the events this season,” she said. “There are only two races left in 2009 and unless we win the lottery, we’re not going.”
“In Round 3 of the GNCC Series, I flipped into a ravine but finished after we got the quad back on track,” said Horn. “In Round 4, our clutch fried after only two laps. Overall there have been a few challenges, but it’s been a great season.”
“I’ve been a K&N fan for quite a while,” said Horn. “I compete against 800 cc machines and K&N gives me the power increase I need, plus the extra filtration and protection necessary to win races.”

Garcia's fan club continues to grow every day. "I began building this car just to stand out from other people," he said, "but everywhere I go, people love my car and stop me to take pictures of it." Garcia is a member of the L.A. Chapter Nokturnal Car Club. "After joining the club about 5 years ago, I have worked hard to earn their respect," said Garcia. "Since then, I have worked my way up to joining the council."
Winning numerous car shows in 2009 with this '98 GS400 has given Garcia the recognition he disserves. Some of the car shows include Dub L.A., Dub Arizona, Dub San Jose, Lowrider Nationals, Lowrider Festival and the Ludikrs Car Show.
The "Bentlex" has also been featured on the front cover of Addex Magazine in Europe and Kings of the Street in Arizona. J-Lug Magazine and Lux-G Magazine in Japan have also featured Garcia's custom ride.

The future holds even bigger plans for Garcia's ride. "I have plans to improve my suspension," he said, "And install a newer, sportier front bumper and grill."

Australian Jason Crump battled through his pain in the World Speedway Grand Prix at Terenzano, Italy. The World Championship leader was still not fully recovered from major surgery and skin grafts earlier this month.

“Jason bravely struggled in Italy in the penultimate round of this year’s 11-leg series,” said Roy Stone, Media Relations Manager. “He added four points to his overall tally.”

Crump managed only two laps in the Friday practice. “He did not have full strength in his left arm and retired in pain,” said Stone. “He knew the race ahead of him would be difficult.”
Poland’s Tomasz Gollob began the race in third place overall. He won the semi-final and was victorious in the final. Gollob is now only 17 points behind Crump. The final round of the World Series Grand Prix will be at Gollob’s home track in three weeks.
“The doctors cleared me to ride in Italy but the pain was so intense and the lack of strength made it almost impossible
to compete,” said Crump. “But those four points could end up being the difference at the end.”
It has come down to the final round to determine the 2009 World Champion. Three riders can take the title, Jason Crump, Tomasz Gollob and Russian Emil Sayfutdinov. Crump said he will not give up his lead easily.
“I will be receiving daily treatment at the hospital in Northampton and working out in the gym each day in the hopes that I will be recovered in time,” said Crump. “Winning a third World Championship is my ultimate goal right now. I am so close yet so far away.”

The K&N sponsored BUB Streamliner Seven has set a new motorcycle world record of 367.382 mph in the Land Speed Shootout on the Bonneville Salt Flats. That makes pilot Chris Carr the fastest man on two wheels.

In the first run of the day at the Salts, Carr was blown off course by a side wind. He went
through the 4 ¼ mile marker flag on the edge of the course at over 300 mph. The run was aborted and the Bub Streamliner was taken back to the starting line for another attempt.
On the next run, Carr moved about 31 feet off his line in the measured mile but kept it wide open to record a run of 367.809 mph. The team then had only two hours to prepare the machine for his return run. For a Bonneville record, pilots must make two good runs and then average the speeds. Carr next went through the measured mile at 366.956 mph for a two way average of 367.382 mph and the new world record.
