K&N Engineering's latest addition to its lineup of performance products is the 77-2574KS air intake system. This intake is designed for the 2007-2010 Ford Edge equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine. The 77-2574KS replaces the Edge's factory air filter and air intake equipment with a new design which reduces restriction in the air intake path and increases the Edge's available horsepower and torque. K&N engineers designed the 77-2574KS out of mandrel-bent aluminum tubing, which is powdercoated silver to add a little "eye candy" underneath the hood. A large cone-shaped K&N air filter (part number RF-1042) stands guard at the tube's inlet, keeping dust and dirt out of the engine while still allowing air to pass through with minimal restriction, and a powdercoated heat shield isolates the air filter from hot air underneath the hood. This combination delivers an impressive additional 11.21 horsepower and 10.15 lb/ft. torque at 5797 RPM, according to testing performed on K&N's dynamometer.

The RF-1042 air filter included with this intake is washable and reusable, so when the filter gets dirty you can simply wash it out and reuse it instead of throwing your air filter away and buying a new one. In most driving conditions, the filter can go up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is necessary. Installing the 77-2574KS on your Ford Edge is easy, thanks to photo-illustrated instructions, and only requires the use of simple hand tools. The 77-2574KS is backed by K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty and Consumer Protection Pledge, and is compatible with your vehicle's engine management software so no vehicle modifications are necessary in order to realize this added performance.

Troy DeCaire Wins MSRXSS race at Salem Speedway and Leads Series in Points

With his win at Salem DeCaire now sit atop the MSRXSS points race.
"It always feels good to put together the type of season we have had this year," remarked sprint car racing phenom Troy DeCaire. "I wouldn't say we have found any one thing - I'd have to say it's just a product of hard work paying off."
In the same week, Troy DeCaire earned a top-ten finish with the USAC Silver Crown Series, and got his first MSRXSS victory.
In the same week, Troy DeCaire earned a top-ten finish with the USAC Silver Crown Series, and got his first MSRXSS victory.

At only 24 years old the K&N sponsored racer has already collected 20 years of driving experience. DeCaire understands hard work as well as he does dedication. "I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida," said DeCaire, "but I made the move to Indy this April to pursue my racing career."

Whatever he's doing is working, Troy DeCaire recently continued his open wheel hot streak by bringing home a top-ten finish with the USAC Silver Crown Series at Berlin Raceway, and then followed that up with a well deserved and very popular win with the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series (MSRXSS) at Salem Speedway in Indiana.

"This has been an amazing week for me, first with the USAC Silver Crown car and now, finally, a win with the Must See Racing Sprint Series," said DeCaire. "In the Silver Crown race, I worked my way up to seventh, but I cut a tire and drifted back to tenth, so that was a little tough. But everything came right for us Saturday night at Salem Speedway."

In speaking about the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series DeCaire says, "I think it's a great series that has a lot of potential to not only help drivers and teams get noticed, but I think it's great for pavement sprint car racing too. They're getting some of the best racing in the country out to an audience that may not be exposed to it."

The MSRXSS offers what they refer to as "Racefanstv" with International Distribution and a 24/7 Must See Racing Channel. Their program has a National Distribution potential of over 90 million households.

"And, being the points leader in such a promising series makes me extremely proud of what kind of program myself and the people supporting me have worked to put together," adds DeCaire.

Next up DeCaire will be competing on the dirt at Macon, Illinois with the POWRi Midget Series. After that it's over to Slinger Speedway with more of the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series, and then on to Winchester Speedway, competing with the USAC Sprint Car Series.

Truk Wurks Monster Truck Team Caps Successful 2010 With Powerblock Appearance

Greg's son Zach earned his first event win driving the team's Rislone Defender monster truck.
Greg's son Zach earned his first event win driving the team's Rislone Defender monster truck.
The Truk Wurks off-road monster truck team is headquartered in Greencastle, Indiana, it's a father-son team consisting of Greg and Zach Adams, and respectively they pilot the Bar's Leaks Eliminator and the Rislone Defender monster trucks. Kyle Doyle is also an active member of the team; he handles sales and marketing, crews and drives as well. The team's success this year is no accident, it is in fact the product of hard work and long hours from the team, along with the help of many friends and family members.

"We have been very busy with 32 races complete, this along with displays and appearing with both trucks on Powerblock. We are very pleased this year, we out did last year's wins by three times and numerous times both trucks were in the finals," explains Greg.

"Our race schedule has been pretty intense and we've been running the trucks quite hard. I actually rolled my truck at an event in Oklahoma, and despite the fact that we repaired the body, we really wanted to pull out all the stops for Powerblock, so that's why we are rolling out a brand new, fresh body."

Greg and Zach recently announced that they would be appearing on Spike TV's Powerblock program. The hit automotive series is one of the most popular features on the Spike TV channel.

"There have been some amazing motorsports and automotive vehicles and personalities featured on Powerblock in the past," said Greg. "Not many monster trucks have been invited to grace the studios there though, so for us and the industry this is a pretty big honor. We're definitely excited to be bringing our Bar's Leaks monster to show off to the world!"

"We had a great time filming the Powerblock segment," said Greg. "We've definitely been tearing up our share of parts this year, so it was a nice break to be able to hang out and keep the trucks shiny and clean!" he said with a laugh.

Greg's son Zach was just as excited about appearing on the show. "It definitely was an honor to be invited to appear on the show, to represent both our team and our sponsors. We've worked hard over the last couple of years to get our team where it needs to be, and a gig like this definitely tells me we've been doing something right," remarked Zach.

This year also saw 19 year old Zach, living up to his 2009 Rookie of the Year status, when he picked up his first event win in racing behind the wheel of the Defender on a Friday night in Lake Charles, beating his father in the finals of all things. Zach also reached the finals of the Saturday event, narrowly losing to his father in that race.

The teams name came about because of Greg's love for trucks. "I have had a big interest in 4x4's since the early 80s, and we have spent a lot of time building some cool and interesting trucks," adds Greg.

Greg says his continuing relationship with K&N is going well. "We enjoy working with companies that have great products, so it has been a pleasure to represent K&N! The monsters and all are shop trucks use K&N air filters and oil filters."

"We have two big events left to finish out the year, says Greg. "Both trucks will be on display at the AutoZone National sales convention in Memphis, Tennessee, and we are looking forward to a four day event with the Whole Bars Products race team and Walmart."

Justin Lamb Wins Super Gas at Sonoma NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Nationals

Justin Lamb ran a near perfect final at Infineon Raceway giving him his eighth coveted Wally.
Justin Lamb ran a near perfect final at Infineon Raceway giving him his eighth coveted Wally.
Most of the best racers were on hand to wage battle at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and the long postponed NHRA Phoenix Nationals contested there.

Justin Lamb from Henderson, Nevada, expertly maneuvered his Race Tech Camaro through seven rounds for the win with a near perfect run in the final. Lamb ran a 9.901 second lap on a 9.90 index with a 0.008 second reaction time. Lamp put the same car into a two-and-three record in just two weeks, with two different drives. He is now the 2010 Phoenix Nationals Super Gas Champion.

"The win in Sonoma was very nice," remarked Lamb. "It came after a tough week in Seattle where I lost in the final round on a fluke round. There was an issue during the staging process that essentially did not give me a fair chance at even winning the race (he basically lost on freak staging violation). It is hard to go that far and not even have a chance to race for the win. To come back only a few days later and be in another national event final was really something though."

Using any measuring stick, Lamb Motorsports' year thus far has been a very good one. Lamb adds, "I have not gone to as many races during the summer as I did last year, but any year you win a national event is a good year, and to already win two is awesome!"

The 23-year old college student has in fact developed quite a proclivity for winning NHRA Lucas Oil National Events since winning his first one in 2007 on the same track. With this victory he now has his eighth coveted national event "Wally."

"I don't know what it is about Sonoma, I've just had a lot of success here, said Lamb. "It's one of those places where I just feel confident when I roll in the gate. It's hard to explain."

Lamb commented that his K&N products as usual were great and did their part. "I use them on all four of our race cars, the air and oil filters are second to none. They definitely have the best quality products and support that any racer could ask for."

"One of the highlights for our team in the past few weeks is that good friend of mine, Shawn Langdon, drove my same Super Gas car and won a national event in it. That was really something."
