Like so many racer's in the sport, Jason Johnson began his racing career watching his father. He'd head out to local race tracks in Southern Louisiana, first to watch, and then to help his family race their Sprint cars & Open Wheel Modifieds. As time passed, Jason began to closely watch the elite racers in the sport, looking forward to the day that he himself could get behind the wheel. Young Jason knew that he still had to pay his dues, and learn everything he could about the sport. After High School, Jason decided to move north, to Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania in search of a job with a World of Outlaws team.
Sprint Car & Open Wheel Modified Racer Jason Johnson
The hard work and dedication certainly paid off. Jason has been able to show his talents running the Texas Super Sprints, Cajun Sprinters, USCS, ASCS, ASCOC, among others. His first victory came in 1998 at the ASCS Sprint Car series in Rusk,Texas. Wins also followed at the 2003 Worlds of Outlaws race at Texas Motor Speedway, and in 2006 at the Knoxville Nationals. Following 2007 with over 20 victories, 2008 brought a victory at the $50,000 Oliie's Bargain Outlet Challenge winning 2 of the 3 races. The next year, Jason again had over 20 wins again.
When asked about K&N, Jason had this to say: "Back when I was a kid, my father was a firm believer in K&N Air Filtration systems. Embedded into me, as I began with my own career I also became a firm believer in utilizing K&N for all my personal needs as well as the race teams I competed for."
Jason also wanted to share that, "On my race car, the specialized K&N Air Box is awesome at keeping all the dust and dirt out of our Don Ott Racing Engines. While competing on dirt tracks puts K&N to the test, and our results speak for themselves with 17 victories so far in 2010. K&N. Like my father once taught me, a clean engine is a happy engine. We thank K&N for making it all possible."

Glass has now won the first three out of five of the BITD five-race American Off-Road Racing Series races. Photo by: eventphotodigital.com.
"Aaahhhh! Vegas to Reno...what a race...hot, hot, hot - did I mention hot?" Those were the remarks from the off-road racing Kingman, Arizona chiropractor, Dr. Macrae Glass, after scoring yet another first in class. In 2009 Glass won every race in the Best in the Desert's (BITD) five-race "American Off-Road Racing Series" championship. This win comes off back-to-back wins so far in 2010, and has Dr. Glass sitting comfy atop the Class 8000 for open pickups in his K&N sponsored, KC HiLites Ford F-150.

"This race was especially cool because it marked our second Vegas to Reno win in as many years" said Glass. And by cool we can only assume he means hot.
"I drink a lot of water as a normal routine-that helps me withstand hot conditions, and in fact, my body's thermostat may be a little off anyhow, since I don't seem to mind 110, or in this case 130 in the cab."
That comment clearly coming as an understatement in that Glass drove the entire race himself. "Some teams have second and even third drivers," adds Glass, as though dismissing any consideration of such a notion.
KC HiLites Kingpin Michael rode shotgun with Glass for the first 159 miles. "We started fourth in a field of six Class 8 trucks. We got to the front of the pack by mile 95 or so and kept charging."
At mile 159 Glass stopped to refuel and picked up his new navigator, Kevin Davis. "We motored on trouble free to mile 280, where we fueled and Trevor Nieto climbed in to navigate toward the finish," said Glass.
"We had a sizeable cushion at 300 miles and I decided to cruise and save the truck.
We fueled again at 380 and we moved on. The sun set and we lit up the night with our KC Pods! Wow - that's all I can say, because night driving has really changed. We continued on to the finish, with no flats-the entire race on the same four tires. And we were first in class, 28th overall."
We prep the truck in house and I think that has helped our reliability," added Glass. "My team and I really like the long-grueling races - the tougher and hotter and more adverse - the better."
"Great air cleaners from K&N help too! We also have help from many other sponsors." The next race for Dr. Glass and company is the BluWater Desert Challenge, in Parker Arizona, October 15-17.
