Dalton Millican expeeinced a successful season in the AMA ATV Series in 2011.
Dalton Millican began the season on a positive note with a win at Antonia, Georgia, in the 450A class in the AMA ATV National Series. As the season progressed, the rider continued a successful run. Millican compiled four wins, an equal amount of second place finishes and placed third once.

Dalton Millican recently won his first career AMA ATV Championship.
In fact, although there were eleven races scheduled in the AMA ATV National Series, the riders are allowed to use their best eight finishes. Most folks would be impressed with these stats alone, but the rider also was behind the starting gate eighteen times and sported fifteen hole shots. That said, at the end of the ninth scheduled race, Millican already had his first career championship wrapped up.

Dalton Millican was also a strong contender in the Production A class as well. Of the eight races the ATV rider competed in this particular division, he walked away victorious once and experience several second and third place finishes. Millican and his Parts Plus Honda concluded the season in second place for the championship in this division.

Experiencing his third season of racing, in the AMA ATV National Series, Millican began the 2011 season with experience under his belt and anticipation of success. That said, the rider was excited upon earning his first championship title. Referring to winning the championship, Millican said, "It will motivate me to continue training hard, and give me the confidence to go out there and continue to win."

When asked the key to his recent success, Millican explained, "I believe it was just staying relaxed and having fun while I was out on the track. I am very happy with how the season turned out. All of the hard work put in by myself, my family, and my sponsors really paid off. I've been more consistent this season. I am learning more how to calm down while I am out on the track, and not get worked up when something is not going the way I want it to."

Dalton Millican also competed in the Pro Am classes at Loretta Lynn's, in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. The morning started off pretty good as he pulled a hole shot in Moto One of the Unlimited class and finished the race in fourth place. During the second Moto, Dalton had a good start and finished ninth.

Lining up to compete in the Production class, Millican's luck evidently went south, as he got spun and fell from fifth to last place in moto one. During moto two, while fighting for one more hole shot during the 2011 season, the rider tangled wheels with a competitor and upon being thrown from his ATV sustained a broken leg.

Although such an injury would have an adverse effect on some rider's attitude, Dalton Millican is already looking forward to healing and getting back on the track. "For some reason, after all of my injuries, I have always come back faster, and hope to do the same when I'm cleared from the doctor to ride again," explained Millican. Referring to what he has been doing since the injury, he continued, "I have really just been relaxing and taking a break, but now it's time to get back started."

Although Millican ended the season on a sour note, he has obviously experienced a successful year overall. That said, the rider is aware that his entire team played a large role in his success. Speaking of his team, Millican said, "I wouldn't have made it this far, and wouldn't have won a championship if it wasn't for them."

The champion ATV rider also credits a portion of his success to proper maintenance of the ATV. When asked if he used K&N products, he said, "I use their air filters, oil filters, filter cleaner and filter oil. Everything has been very beneficial, and I'm glad to have K&N as a part of the team. I get maximum performance and dependability from every K&N product I use. It's never a question that my motor will be protected from the harsh environment that motocross puts it through."

In closing, Dalton Millican shared a message with his sponsors and fans. "I am very thankful to have each and every one, and I hope to continue working with them for this upcoming season. Thanks for all of the support. It really means a lot, and I can't thank you all enough."

Replacement Air Filter for 2011, 2012 & 2013 Chevy Volt 1.4L
Replacement Air Filter for 2011 to 2015 Chevy Volt and Opel Ampera and for 2014 to 2016 Cadillac ELR
In crowning the Chevrolet Volt their "2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year®," Motor Trend magazine wrote "The future is here, and America is back in the game." The magazine's annual award is one of the most prestigious and coveted honors in the automotive industry. The Volt is powered primarily by electricity yet seamlessly switches to gas power for extend range, and it leaves little doubt that it is indeed a new day not only for Chevrolet, but also for the entire industry.

The 2011, 2012 & 2013 Chevy Volt 1.4 liter is a "series-parallel plug-in hybrid" hatchback featuring a lithium-ion battery pack that can power the car's 149-horsepower (111-kilowatt) electric motor, without gasoline for an estimated 40 miles in the city. Any further than that and the gas-powered inline-four engine kicks in to propel you an additional 300 miles or so. By definition the Volt is the most advanced hybrid to date and quite possibly the most fuel-efficient car on the market.

Yet, nearly as significant is that even the number one fuel-sipper on the road today, remarkably reaps additional benefits when a K&N replacement air filter is installed in place of an OEM filter. And just as noteworthy, K&N's 33-2464 fits the 2011 to 2015 Chevy Volt, 2011 to 2016 Opel Ampera and 2014 to 2016 Cadillac ELR air filter simply slides into the factory air box the same as the factory replacement does. Increasing air flow alone is not the accomplishment however, it's flowing more air while providing exceptional engine protection.

Since 1969 K&N Filters has been designing, manufacturing, and enhancing High-Flow Air Filters for enthusiasts looking to maximize horsepower and acceleration. K&N invented the High-Flow filter technology, and our filters have been tested both in-house and by independent labs using the ISO5011 test developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers. The result is the most precise air filtration possible without impeding air flow, or engine performance, resulting from air restriction.

Like all K&N street use air filter replacements, the 33-2464 Chevy Volt air filter is washable and reusable and has the capability to run up to 50,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. K&N stands behind their replacement air filters by including a million-mile limited warranty - which means you will never need to purchase another air filter for your Volt.

Performance air filter 33-2464 will fit the following Chevrolet Volt, Vauxhall Ampera and Opel Ampera models equipped with 1.4 liter engines.

Back in 1984 when Lido Anthony "Lee" Iacocca and his team foresaw that an increasing number of drivers required the versatility of a minivan, they also ingeniously realized that the experience needn't be humdrum; the result was the Dodge Caravan. After three record breaking years of success Chrysler upped the ante by introducing the longer-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan in 1987.

Since 2008 the van has been sold only under the Grand Caravan nameplate, and for 2011 Chrysler says the originator is back in a big way, with a new attitude and soul. This year's Dodge Grand Caravan gets the new Pentastar 3.6L V6 with 283-hp as well as a revised suspension. Along with the changes under the hood, the new Grand Caravan also gets a facelift, featuring a new hood and headlights. The rear fascia has been revised too, and now displays LED taillights.

In keeping with the grand tradition of an attitude adjustment and performance boost, K&N offers the 33-2462 replacement air filter. These washable and reusable filters are custom designed to easily fit into your existing factory air box. Adding even more performance is as simple as replacing your OEM air filter with a K&N custom designed drop-in air filter. The 33-2462 air filter also fits all models of the 2011 - 2016 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan with 3.6 liter engine as well as the 2012 - 2015 RAM Cargo Van. The 2011, 2012 & 2013 Volkswagen Routan with the 3.6 liter engine is also included on the list of applications for 33-2462.

All K&N replacement air filters are designed to increase both horsepower and acceleration by providing outstanding air filtration without unwarranted air restriction. Yet perhaps even more important, K&N's flawless effectiveness is a direct result of over 40 years of winning, under every imaginable condition, and in every conceivable form of motorsport venue, ensuring that you get highest engine protection possible. This washable and reusable air filter replacement is capable of running up to 50, 000 miles between servicing, depending on your driving conditions. This will clearly be the last air filter you will ever purchase; you have K&N's word on it, that's why they back them with a million-mile limited warranty.

Nick Folk Nails an Unexpected NHRA Win in Top Dragster at Earlville

Heading into the most recent NHRA Div 5 event at Tri-State Raceway in Earlville, Iowa, all plans for Nick Folk to compete with his 2010 K&N equipped American Dragster in Super Comp, but with some quick changes literally as the team rolled into the gate, he ended up running Top Dragster and drove away with the event win.

"We pulled into the race kinda late, because I had put the kids on the school bus," he explained. "You know, we're rolling into an NHRA points race at like, 10:30, seems like everyone else has been there for a day already. [laughs] I'm lying in the back and [brother] Brian is driving and says 'there aren't any parking spots anywhere, what is that all saved for Top Dragster?' I perked up in the back and said, 'Good, we have a Top Dragster car.' And that's how I decided to run Top Dragster. Got there, took the throttle stop off and there are never that many cars in the class at that race."

With only twenty-one cars entered for Top Dragster, there would be no bump spot to worry about and even with no power adders, Folk easily put himself in the number seventeen spot with his 7.266. That ladder position turned out to be a very good place to be. "Really for first round, I didn't get the best pairing when I had to run John Lobner, you know that wasn't the best qualifying on the ladder," he pointed out of his relief of getting past first round. "It just worked out. I didn't change converters, that's the way the car runs in Super Comp, you know I just didn't turn the [throttle] stop on."

In round two, Folk took off with a nice .003 light and before he even made it too far down the track saw his win light come on, courtesy of Mike Wharram's .001 red. That set him up for a match up with Dan Phelps. Continuing with his 7.26 dial, Folk once again had the handicap and left first with a .024 light. Although behind by .012 in the reaction time department, as luck would have it, it was an easy win for Folk after Phelps experienced pretty severe tire shake and had to lift shortly into the run.

What happened in the final two rounds was rather interesting, to say the least and what should have technically been the semifinal, actually in some ways ended up being the final.

First, paying close attention to air and track changes, Folk dialed his car up two-hundredths from where he had been in earlier rounds to a 7.28 before meeting up with who would be his final competitor Ryan Smith. After edging him at the hit by .011, Folk took a narrow .008 at the stripe and posted a 7.296 on that 7.28 dial to Smith's losing 7.043 on his 7.03 dial.

On the other side of the ladder, Hank Brown was unable to make his semifinal round bye run and that meant that Folk would have a very unusual single in the Top Dragster final, all he had to do was take the tree and the Top Dragster Wally and all that goes with it, was his.

"The guy [Brown] won at six cars, but I guess he blew his stuff up," said Folk. 'So he couldn't show up for the bye run at three cars. So when I raced the guy in the semi's, that was technically the final."

"These two dragsters that we have right now are just the two best cars we have ever had," he continued. "We finally put data loggers on them and I'll never build another car without one. Attention to detail, is probably the only thing we have changed this year, and between Brian and I, we are probably having the best year we have ever had, with him winning Indy and what I have been able to do, too."

"One thing we haven't changed is the way we protect our motors and that's with everything K&N," said Folk. 'We are looking forward to adding the K&N scoops to our cars, we have heard nothing but great stuff about them from all kinds of racers that we respect. K&N just doesn't put out anything that isn't the absolute best and when you are running motors that cost what these do and what we demand out of them, you can't mess around with anything that you don't trust one-hundred percent."

The Folk family took one brief weekend off, to spend at home, before heading to the next event on their 2011 schedule, the Jeg's SportsNats in Columbus, Ohio at National Trail Raceway, September 22-25.

Austin Williams Experiences His First USAC/CRA Victory At Santa Maria Speedway

Austin Williams recently experienced his first USAC/CRA win.
Austin Williams recently experienced his first USAC/CRA win.
Austin Williams and the JR Racing Team recently rolled into Santa Maria, California, with anticipation of making a showing at a USAC/CRA event to be held at the Santa Maria Speedway. Experiencing his first year of racing in this particular division, the twenty year old driver was anxious to get his first win in the 410 class.
Racing with the JR Racing Team, Aystin Williams is competing in his fiorst season of the 410 class USCA/CRA Division.

After qualifying tenth, Williams started second in his heat. When the green flag waved, Williams eventually dropped back to the fifth position, but eventually worked his way back to the third place spot with only two laps to go. Coincidentally, Austin finished right behind his brother Cody.

Referring to competing against his brother, Austin Williams said, "We're real competitive, and I just race him like anybody else. While we're racing, the family kind of goes out the window. I just race my race and we go from there." Starting on the pole position of the main event, Austin shot out to the lead immediately when the race was deemed underway, and never gave up the lead throughout the entire thirty laps.

"I walked out on the track before the main event and saw it was tacky," recalled Williams. "Santa Maria is known for getting tackier and tackier throughout the night. It's not like any other track where it dries out as the night goes on. It actually gets more tacky. It was me and Danny Sheridan on the front row, and I knew that whoever got the jump was probably going to win the race, if they didn't make any mistakes".

I kind of left them at the beginning and had a pretty good lead," he continued. Then there was a caution on lap seven. I got a pretty good lead again, and my car started to get a little tight around lap twenty, and started kind of pushing coming off of the corners." Referring to his competitors, he said, "I saw them once and heard them a couple of times. I knew I needed not to make one more mistake, because if I did, they were there to pounce on me."

When asked the lap he became confident he was going to pull off the victory, Williams explained, "From the beginning, I knew there were all of those big guys behind me. It was during the last lap of the checkered, coming out of lap four; that's was when I knew I would win the main event."

"It felt amazing to get my first USAC/CRA win," shared the driver. "Going across the line it felt amazing. I don't even know how to put it into words. You know, going up to that race I had a couple of top five finishes, and I really didn't have too many of those throughout the previous two years I had raced. I got the win, and it boosted my confidence, knowing I could run with those top guys."

According to Austin Williams, the key to continued success throughout the remainder of the season and future seasons as well, is maintaining momentum and "keeping your head on straight". "It is also very important to have a good crew," Williams ensured. "You couldn't do it all by yourself."

The driver is also very aware of the importance of keeping the internal components of one's engine dust free and well lubed. Referring to the entire JR Racing team, including Austin, his brother and father, he said, "We use K&N products. We use K&N air cleaners, air cleaner socks, and their oil filters. This is our second year with K&N as a sponsor, but we used K&N products before the sponsorship as well. They're great products. K&N air filters, and the oil filters do a great job at keeping the engine clean. They do their job real well."

When asked what he enjoys most about racing, the driver said, "That one feeling you get when you win. I enjoy the team effort. You know, I played football for thirteen years, and then I stopped after high school, because it was either play football in Jr. College or go racing. I wanted to race."

In closing, he said, "The feeling of crossing the finish line is what keeps you coming back for more."
