Boost AMG Tuned 2014, 2015 and 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 and GLA45 2.0L Performance with K&N Filter

The K&N reusable air filter for 2014-2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG and 2015 GLA45 AMG 2.0L Turbo L4 models is designed to increase airflow and reduce restriction over the stock automotive air filter

The K&N reusable air filter for 2014-2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG and 2015 GLA45 AMG 2.0L Turbo L4 models is designed to increase airflow and reduce restriction over the stock automotive air filter

AMG, the performance racing division of Mercedes-Benz, got its hands on the Mercedes-Benz CLA-class sedan and GLA-class crossover and massaged an amazing 355 horsepower out of a 2.0-liter inline four cylinder engine. Mercedes-Benz claims the AMG handcrafted turbocharged direct injection engine is the most powerful 4-cylinder engine in production and boasts the highest horsepower per liter ratio in the automotive industry. The intercooled twin-scroll turbo engine is rated at 332 lb-ft of torque at a mere 2,250 RPM and a 0-60 MPH time of only 4.8 seconds.

Owners of 2014, 2015 and 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG, and 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG, models with a 2.0-liter turbo engine can now equip this amazingly powerful engine with a replacement air filter from the authority in washable air filters, K&N. This reusable air filter is designed to fit into the stock air filter box of 2014-2016 CLA45 AMG, and 2015 GLA45 AMG models without any need for modifications. K&N replacement air filters are made with specially woven cotton gauze. Because cotton, by nature, is more breathable than paper, a K&N replacement air filter can flow more air than a typical paper automotive air filter. More air and less restriction for such a highly tuned engine can result in a boost in performance and better acceleration.

It would be false to assume that an increase in airflow with a K&N air filter comes at the expense of filtration efficiency and engine protection. K&N engineers place filtration efficiency and dirt retention as a priority when developing a replacement air filter. K&N performs filtration efficiency testing following the internationally recognized ISO 5011 protocol with ISO coarse test dust to ensure that our air filters will provide high airflow without sacrificing engine protection.

Perhaps more exciting than an increase in performance from installing a K&N replacement air filter is the fact that they are also a washable and reusable air filter. The ability to wash and reuse a K&N air filter means that it will pay for itself over time. The K&N washable air filter E-0661 for 2014-2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG and 2015 Mercedes Benz GLA45 AMG models with a 2.0-liter turbo engine can be washed and made like new using one of the K&N Recharger air filter service kits.

The replacement K&N reusable air filter for 2014-2016 CLA45 AMG, and 2015 GLA45 AMG models with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is manufactured in the United States and backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty. Replacement air filter E-0661 is designed to provide increased performance, reusability, and long air filter service intervals without any need for modifications or tuning for the following Mercedes-Benz AMG models:

2016 Mercedes Benz CLA45 AMG 2.0L
2016 Mercedes Benz A45 AMG 2.0L

2015 Mercedes Benz A45 AMG 2.0L

India Built Mahindra XUV500 2.2L Diesel SUV Benefits from K&N Washable Air Filter

K&N reusable air filter for 2012-2014 Mahindra XUV500 W4, W6, or W8 models 2.2L diesel engine

The K&N reusable air filter for 2012-2014 Mahindra XUV500 W4, W6, or W8 models with a 2.2L L4 diesel engine is built with four layers of special K&N tight weave cotton gauze

The Mahindra XUV500 is manufactured by the Indian automobile company Mahindra & Mahindra. The XUV500 is a mid-size SUV available in three different trim levels, as well as all wheel drive. The only engine available in the XUV500 is a 2.2-liter mHawk140 direct injection turbo diesel engine similar to the engine found in the Mahindra Scorpio. The Mahindra XUV500 has become increasingly popular in the Indian market, and can be exported to countries like South Africa, Australia, and Chile.

K&N filter for 2012-2014 Mahindra XUV500 2.2L diesel air filter is 98.99% efficient overall

Filtration efficiency test results, following the ISO 5011 protocol with ISO coarse test dust, show that the 2012-2014 Mahindra XUV500 2.2L diesel air filter is 98.99% efficient overall

Owners of 2012, 2013, and 2014 Mahindra XUV500 W4, W6, or W8 models with a 2.2L diesel engine can now equip their mid-size SUV with a replacement diesel air filter from the authority in washable air filters, K&N. The 33-3023 reusable air filter is designed to fit into the stock air filter box of 2012-2014 Mahindra XUV500 2.2L turbo diesel models without any need for modifications. K&N replacement air filters are made with specially woven cotton gauze. Because cotton, by nature, is more breathable than paper, a K&N replacement air filter can flow more air than a typical paper air filter. More air can result in increased performance and better acceleration.

It would be false to assume that an increase in airflow with a K&N diesel air filter comes at the expense of filtration efficiency and engine protection. K&N engineers place filtration efficiency and dirt retention as a priority when developing a diesel air filter. This diesel air filter uses design elements that go above and beyond our standard automotive air filters. K&N knows that a Mahindra XUV500 diesel could be subjected to some of the most extreme conditions on the planet. This is why K&N used four layers of our special tight weave cotton gauze sandwiched between wire mesh to form extra deep 1-1/4” pleats. Four layers of 1-1/4” deep pleated tight weave cotton filter media allows diesel air filter 33-3023 to outflow the stock air filter, hold a lot of dirt for long service intervals, and offer 98.99% overall filtration efficiency.

K&N performs filtration efficiency testing following the internationally recognized ISO 5011 protocol with ISO coarse test dust to guarantee that our air filters will provide high airflow without sacrificing engine protection. Calling this test dust coarse is almost absurd, as 22% of the dust is rated at 10 microns or less. To provide perspective, a human blood cell is typically between 6 and 8 microns across. Detailed filtration test results for K&N air filter 33-3023 are available for viewing.

Perhaps more exciting than the increased performance that comes with a K&N replacement diesel air filter is the fact that they are also a washable and reusable air filter. The ability to wash and reuse a K&N air filter means that it will pay for itself over time. The K&N diesel air filter for 2012, 2013, and 2014 Mahindra XUV500 W4, W6, or W8 models with a 2.2L diesel engine can be washed and made like new using one of the K&N Recharger air filter service kits.

K&N’s Chief Engineering Officer Steve Williams is 2014 NHRA Division 7 Super Gas Champ

K&N Air Filters’ Chief Engineering Officer, Steve Williams, has over twenty-five years of drag racing experience and following the conclusion of the 2014 NHRA race season he is able to add another NHRA Division 7 championship to his resume. Williams has three previous championships to his credit, but he has been through a bit of a dry spell as the last championship was over ten years ago.

Steve Williams travels across the United States competing in NHRA divisional and national events. As if that wasn’t stressful enough, Williams runs a second race car, a TNT Race Cars built dragster, in the Super Comp class. Steve is quick to admit that he couldn’t be an accomplished drag racer, head of R&D for K&N, and a family man without tremendous support from a great group of people he surrounds himself with. “None of this would be possible without the support of my wife, my daughter Shelby, K&N’s Chief Executive Officer Steve Rogers, and my crew,” said Williams.

In no particular order Steve Williams imparted his three-part recipe for winning championships. Driving well and being consistent is an important ingredient in the recipe for success. Steve feels that his twenty-five years of experience are a contributing factor to his championship. “Challenging conditions like temperature changes, shifts in the wind, and changes in altitude favor experienced racers who can anticipate how their car will be affected and adjust for these changes,” said Williams.

“None of this would be possible without the support of my wife, my daughter Shelby, K&N’s Chief Executive Officer Steve Rogers, and my race crew,” said Steve Williams (Bob Johnson Division 7 Photo)

In a sport like drag racing where winning and losing comes down to thousandths of a second, it’s no secret that a little bit of luck, whether good or bad, goes a long way. In years past Steve has won races, but not been lucky enough to win the championship. In 2014 Steve Williams wasn’t lucky enough to claim a Super Gas win as he went out in the final round of elimination three times, but managed to earn enough points to claim the NHRA Division 7 Super Gas championship.

Steve Williams is thankful for John Reedy who builds his race engines

Steve also believes that having capable, reliable equipment is the third ingredient for winning championships. Steve said “I probably have one of the best Super Gas cars in the country.” Steve explained that it isn’t just about making the most power, nor having the lightest car, it is the sum of all parts that makes for a great drag car. Steve says he couldn’t do it without the help from his crew. “John Reedy builds some of the best engines in the business, and I can’t thank Travis Hodges enough for his help with prepping and transporting the equipment,” said Williams.

Steve Williams is obviously excited about winning the 2014 NHRA Division 7 Super Gas championship, but he seemed most thrilled about earning his Gold Card. The Gold Card will cover all of Steve’s NHRA Division 7 Super Gas entry fees for the 2015 season. “It’ll be nice to save a few bucks at each race,” stated Williams. Although when any racer saves a few bucks, it’s like robbing Peter to pay Paul. Sure Steve might save some money on entry fees, but undoubtedly that money will go back into his race program some other way and not his wallet. Racing, except at the most elite levels, is a labor of love draining far more money from your bank account than it puts in.

The K&N 2014-2016 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid Crossover SUV washable air filter is built with K&N’s high-flow cotton gauze filter media for a lifetime of reusability and savings

The Subaru Impreza based XV Crosstrek is available with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and electric motor hybrid powertrain. The Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid fills a very niche market as it is currently the only all-wheel-drive hybrid crossover SUV on the market. Similarly K&N has filled a niche with its new washable and reusable air filter for 2014-2016 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid Crossover SUV models. K&N has designed the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid Crossover SUV performance air filter to fit in the stock air filter box without any need for modifications. Installation of a 2014, 2015 and 2016 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid Crossover SUV performance air filter is simple, and can usually be completed in less than five minutes.

K&N air filter for 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid models is 98.44% efficient overall

Filtration efficiency test results, following the ISO 5011 protocol with ISO coarse test dust, shows that the K&N air filter for 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid models is 98.44% efficient overall

Because cotton, by nature, is more breathable than paper, a K&N replacement washable air filter can flow more air than a typical paper automotive air filter. More air can result in increased performance and better acceleration. It would be false to assume that an increase in airflow with a K&N reusable air filter comes at the expense of filtration efficiency and engine protection. K&N performs filtration efficiency testing following the internationally recognized ISO 5011 protocol with ISO coarse test dust to guarantee that our air filters will provide high airflow without sacrificing engine protection. K&N replacement air filter 33-5022 was tested and showed a 98.44% overall filtration efficiency rating. Detailed filtration test results for this air filter are available for viewing.

A K&N replacement air filter is made with specially woven cotton gauze. Typical auto air filters are made of a restrictive paper material, and must be thrown away when dirty. The cotton gauze in a K&N 2014-2016 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid Crossover SUV air filter allows it to be washed again and again saving money over time and reducing waste. The K&N washable air filter for 2014-2016 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0L Hybrid Crossover SUV models can be washed and made like new using one of the K&N Recharger air filter service kits.

In other exciting NASCAR K&N Pro Series news, a new body was revealed at the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new NASCAR K&N Pro Series body was built with aerodynamics, safety and ease of repair in mind. The new body replaces the existing steel bodied NASCAR K&N Pro Series cars with a design that saves 35 lbs. and is much easier to repair. The new bodies, whether it’s for a Chevy, Ford, or Toyota, were designed with safety in mind. The new bodies use a fire resistant material, tethers to keep the hoods in place, insets for windshield center braces, and other safety improvements.

The new NASCAR K&N Pro Series bodies will not be used until the first race of the 2015 season; however officials are confident about the performance and durability of the new design. Wind tunnel testing shows that the new NASCAR K&N Pro Series cars compared favorably to the NASCAR Sprint Cup series cars and sport a modern look nearly identical to the Sprint Cup body. The car revealed at the 2014 SEMA Show was painted to resemble Ben Rhodes’ 2014 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevrolet.
