K&N Filters and Lucas Oil sponsored racer Carl Renezeder is set to make his second appearance at the Red Bull Frozen Rush event but other drivers like RockStar sponsored Todd LeDuc aren’t far behind

Nine of the world’s best Pro-4 Off-Road truck drivers have been invited to Maine to take part in the second running of the Red Bull Frozen Rush event. Last year’s inaugural event stunned fans and the 2015 course promises to take Pro-4 truck racing to the next level. The track is said to feature extreme jumps, eight-foot tall berms, various obstacles, 50 foot gaps, all while trying to take the lead and bring home the trophy. All this is part of a Pro-4 short course driver’s weekend routine, except for the fact that instead of dirt they’ll be flying across snow and ice at the Sunday River Ski Resort in Maine.

Even with spiked tires racing on snow requires the drivers to adjust their normal racing tactics. Besides having to compensate their driving technique for the physical changes made to the truck, such as lower gearing, both braking and turning on snow will require an unfamiliar skill. Adding other factors such as frozen hands, a numb face, and poor visibility to the mix means these drivers, as well as their machines, will have to be on top of their game.

Of the nine racers invited to the 2015 Red Bull Frozen Rush event, five of them are K&N sponsored drivers. Winner of the 2014 Red Bull Frozen Rush, motocross racing legend, and accomplished K&N sponsored Pro-4 truck driver Ricky Johnson is the man to beat this year. That’s not to say he won’t have his work cut out for him. Ricky Johnson’s K&N sponsored Red Bull Menzies Motorsports teammate; Bryce Menzies is the 2014 SCORE Baja 500 overall champion and has the skills to win the 2015 Red Bull Frozen Rush. K&N filters sponsored racer Todd LeDuc, son of the legendary off-road racer Curt LeDuc, has racing in his blood and is looking to better his 2014 Red Bull Frozen Rush finish. Carl Renezeder has earned multiple Pro-4 championships and the K&N sponsored driver finished fifth at the 2014 Frozen Rush. The final K&N sponsored racer, RJ Anderson, is the youngest racer in the field and as such is looking to prove himself.

The nine drivers will have a chance to practice on January 7th, before heading on to qualifying on Thursday, January 8th. Racing action will begin on Friday, January 9th and fans will have the ability to watch the event live online at 12:30 pm ET on RedBullTV.com. The 2015 Red Bull Frozen Rush will also air on NBC Sunday, March 1st, 2015 at 2:00 pm ET.

Technically there wasn't a 1996 model year Wrangler as the replacement for the YJ, the all-new Wrangler TJ, was introduced in the spring of 1996 as a 1997 model. The Jeep Wrangler TJ is easy to identify as it no longer used the often criticized square headlights. Instead the TJ returned to the classic round headlights of the earlier Jeep CJ series. Engine options for the Jeep Wrangler TJ were carried over from the YJ series and included the 4.0L inline six-cylinder engine and the 2.5L L4. In 2003 the old AMC 2.5L L4 engine was retired and replaced by a newer 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engine derived from the Chrysler PT Cruiser.

The 2007 Jeep Wrangler JK was a complete redesign of the TJ chassis. At first glance the most dramatic change is the addition of two extra doors to the Wrangler. Building off the success of the long wheel base Jeep Wrangler TJ Unlimited two-door, Chrysler engineers introduced the option of four real doors and improved seating to the Jeep Wrangler JK.

Although the Wrangler Unlimited four-door has a wheel base that is over 20-inches longer than the TJ Unlimited two-door, the JK Unlimited is only 2.4 inches longer overall. Once the body was like-new, the crew at Diamond Hills Collision Center applied a fresh coat of primer and a treated the Clarion Builds 1974 BMW 2002 to a new factory Fjord Blue paint job

With the paint and body work complete, the Clarion Builds 1974 BMW 2002 was trailered from Diamond Hills Collision Center back to the Coupe King BMW specialists for assembly

Few cars have attained the cult status and impacted a modern car manufacturer the way the iconic BMW 2002 did for Bavarian Motor Works (BMW), which is why the Clarion Corporation of America chose a 1974 BMW 2002 for a restoration project under the new Clarion Builds program. This project would be more accurately described as a resto-mod since Clarion Builds plans to not only restore the car to factory condition but to also enhance key components of the ‘74 2002. Clarion Builds will bring the O2 up to modern standards without sacrificing what made the little BMW a success over 40 years ago.

Restoration of the Clarion Builds 1974 BMW 2002 is has been underway for some time now and began with a complete tear down as the first task, followed by extensive rust repair. Once the body was back to like-new condition, the crew at Diamond Hills Collision Center applied a fresh coat of primer and a treated the O2 to a shiny new factory Fjord Blue paint job. Knowing the flaws inherent to assembly on a factory production line, the body and the paint of the Clarion Builds 1974 BMW 2002 are certain to look better than new.

Following the meticulous machining and assembly of the BMW 2002’s 2.0-liter engine, the Coupe King began the process of bolting the Clarion Builds 1974 BMW 2002 back together

Coupe King has gone through the well-worn BMW 2.0-liter engine making repairs and upgrades at the same time to ensure the Clarion Builds BMW 02 performs better than it did 40 years ago

With the paint and body work complete, the Clarion Builds 1974 BMW 2002 was trailered back to the CoupeKing BMW specialist shop for assembly. CoupeKing has gone through the well-worn BMW 2.0-liter engine making repairs and upgrades at the same time. CP custom forged pistons, a balanced crankshaft, an aftermarket camshaft and a new heavy-duty valve train all meticulously machined and assembled will ensure this car performs better than it did forty years ago.

Once engine assembly was finished, it was time to start bolting the 1974 Clarion Builds BMW 2002 back together. Suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires will be all new units from aftermarket companies such as Wilwood Brakes, BBS Wheels, and Toyo tires. Clarion Builds plans to install an aftermarket exhaust from Magnaflow, and a custom K&N air intake system before the project is completed. Currently, Clarion Builds is outfitting a modern audio and video entertainment system in the 1974 BMW 2002 before the new interior and upholstery is installed.
